Artist GM1 White Electric Guitar w/ Howler Pickups

The Artist GM1 is a versatile electric guitar designed for players who want a bold tone and reliable performance across a range of heavier styles, including rock, blues, grunge, and metal. With a solid poplar body and bolt-on Canadian maple neck, this guitar delivers a resonant, punchy sound with excellent note clarity and sustain.

The 22-fret eco-rosewood fingerboard features block inlays for easy fret navigation and a classic visual appeal. The neck has a comfortable modern "C" profile, making it suitable for both rhythm and lead playing.

Loaded with two Artist Howler P90 pickups, the GM1 delivers a powerful midrange response with plenty of growl and bite, ideal for distorted tones without sacrificing definition. The 3-way selector switch allows quick access to neck, bridge, or combined pickup configurations, giving you a wide tonal palette at your fingertips.

Hardware includes a chrome tune-o-matic bridge with a stop-tail bar for improved tuning stability, sustain, and precise intonation. Vintage-style covered chrome machine heads provide smooth tuning action and a sleek finish.

Whether you're playing live, recording, or practising, the Artist GM1 offers the tone, feel, and features needed to perform with confidence!

My favourite beater

By: on 28 July 2026
I got the original version of this guitar 5 or so years ago, it's aged to a TV yellow by now and has become a monster of its own. I've broken and re-glued the neck twice, the body has been snapped in half and re-glued, I've replaced the pickguard with a cut vinyl record, re-wired the entire thing, and I just love it dearly. These pickups are fantastic, the neck is very comfortable, and I don't have to worry about any nicks or scratches as it's not a vintage/ expensive model, AND it's from an Australian company. Great gigging guitar, people ask me about it constantly, and I've still got the original headstock design which after the recent launch of the new headstock, I feel it's pretty cool. Thanks for an easy avenue into good guitars without the corporate price-gouging.

I meant to post a review about this guitar years ago.I absolutely love this instrument. The neck the finish the frets and the p90 pickups are wonderful works of art.I have many guitars in my collection but the gm1 is one of my favourites. So much so that I bought the sunburst color as well from the bargain bin.Guys at Artist guitars a massive thanks to you for your service to musicians Australia wide.My only complaint is that you weren’t around in 1985 when I was a teenager

Mind Blowing

Not exaggerating when I say this is my new favourite guitar, and I have multiple guitars 10x the price. This is my second Artist guitar (the other is the AS72), and both have been so good, I'm not sure I can justify spending thousands on guitars anymore.

Artist Guitars Response
That’s awesome to hear! Love that it’s become your new favourite. Even compared to guitars way up the price ladder. Great to know both your Artist guitars are hitting the mark!
