Artist Guitars' Trusted Technicians

At Artist Guitars, our Showroom staff are here to help with some basic repairs—changing guitar strings, adjusting neck relief, and some minor wiring repairs—we've got you covered! Click here to see a list of what we offer as Showroom Services.

However, what happens if there's a less-than-common repair, or something outside of the Showroom staff's abilities? Fortunately, we have a couple of expert technicians that we recommend for all of your out-of-warranty repairs. For all things guitar, our no.1 tech is Ben Collins at Authentic Guitar Repair. If you have an amplifier than needs some love and care, look no further than the inimitable Chris Tarakson at Guitar Amp Tech.

Ben Collins

From the smallest of setups to snapped-off headstocks, Ben Collins is ready to take on any challenge you can give him! He's worked with the great companies—Fender Guitars and Australis Music—but he's also available for bespoke repairs in his personal studio in Kogarah.

If you've opened an old closet and found a boutique electric guitar that needs rejuvination, or maybe you heard a BANG! in the other room and your beloved steel-string is now in multiple pieces, Ben will be there to get your instrument into its best condition and make you fall in love with your guitar all over again.

Chris Tarakson

Amp repair extraordinaire, Chris is your go-to man for any questions you have about amplifiers. With decades of experience in the music industry and an educational background in Electrical Engineering, his workshop is the best place for your amp (except, of course, rocking out on stage after it's been serviced by Chris!).

Not only is Chris a master of his craft, he's equally passionate about passing his knowledge on to the next generation; between all his repair work, he still finds time to create high-quality educational videos on his YouTube channel. If you've ever wondered what the process of repairing an amp actually looks like, his superb presentation is an invaluable resource. You might get some tips for improving the amplifier yourself; but even if you don't have the tools or you're worried about the dangers of working with an amplifier, his vast catalogue of educational content should be enough proof of his brilliance!
