Artist SS91 Matte Black Electric Guitar w/ Bullbucker Pickups

The Artist SS91 is a premium-grade, take-no-prisoners, rock machine! With some serious specs, this killer instrument shoots well above its price tag!

The mahogany body has an open-pore matte black finish, a carved arm contour and super-high neck access. The carved ergonomic maple neck is comfortable, fast and smooth in the hand, and features 24 Jumbo frets over a 25.5” scale length on an Eco-Rosewood fretboard. Also featuring an iconic reverse headstock, this modern-style guitar is tied together with shark-tooth inlays and matte black hardware.

Our matte-covered, passive, coil-splitting Artist Bullbuckers are in both the bridge and neck positions, and we include a superior string-through hardtail bridge and 43mm bone nut. The switch and simple volume and tone controls are strategically placed for easy adjustability whilst playing, so you can switch from soaring leads back to a thumping rhythm tone in a flash, and the coil-splitting humbuckers provide a huge tonal range!

This guitar comes factory-strung with D'Addario 9–42 gauge strings

Exceptional Value

I pre-ordered this guitar because I was after a cheap guitar to tune down to C and B standard for the occasional times I play in those tunings at home. I liked the look of it on the website and the price was great, I figured I couldn’t go wrong, especially since my other Artist guitars have all been amazing guitars. This guitar is more than you’d expect for the price. It’s light, simple, sleek and the neck action is fast. I own a few Jackson’s and it’s comparable to those. I have enjoyed playing it immensely and it took me a week before I decided to finally do what I bought it for. I replaced the strings with a set of Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky’s and tuned it to B standard. This guitar is a beast! The tone with the heavy gauge and low tuning is unreal without any adjustments. I’ll be tweaking it a little as I settle into it but I am in no rush as I am enjoying it that much as it is. If you are after a great value entry level metal guitar, this is it. It’s not just entry level though, you could gig with this if you like as well. It really is a great value guitar that performs as well as major brands that are twice the price. I love the new headstock too though I think it would be better if it was entirely black. I’m really happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.
