If you love the sound and versatility of the Artist AS69 but you're after something a little more unique, the Artist AS79 is the guitar for you! Featuring a mahogany body with a tiger stripe veneer and finished in a striking violet burst, the AS79 might look straight out of the 21st century, but with a set of vintage output Alnico V single-coil pickups, it sounds right at home among the very finest vintage instruments from the golden age of electric guitars.
Sharing the same quartersawn roasted maple neck as the renowned AS72 range, the AS79 plays like butter, courtesy of an ultra-smooth satin nitrocellulose finish and comfortable C-shape neck profile. A stunning dark rosewood fretboard is the bed for 22 medium jumbo stainless steel frets, ensuring a refret won't be needed until the AS79 becomes a vintage classic itself! The 14" fingerboard radius allows for super low action and effortless bends, while glow-in-the-dark fret markers on the side of the neck map the fretboard on even the darkest of pub stages.
A set of vintage output Alnico V single coil pickups delivers classic chime and jangle, with a five-way switch unlocking those lush, out-of-phase sounds immortalised by generations of iconic players. And when you’re craving extra punch, flipping to the bridge unleashes a rich, throaty growl packed with strong mids and a spanky, cutting high end. With a traditional control layout, vintage six-screw tremolo, and ultra-durable modern block saddles, we've kept things simple to ensure the AS79 feels like a refreshing take on a classic design.
Hand-applied copper-foil shielding throughout the cavities significantly curbs 50-cycle hum, giving you the best of that magical single-coil tone while dampening the hum that it comes with. A set of high-grade locking tuners and a 42mm bone nut keep tuning incredibly stable, even under heavy tremolo use. With a set of strap locks included, the AS79 is truly a professional-grade instrument that yearns to be played night after night.
