With a timeless finish, locking tuners, and Alnico V single-coil pickups amid a litany of high-end appointments, the Artist AS50 is a true player-grade beast, purpose-built for recording and touring artists alike.
Equipped with a set of AntiHum YHL Mercury Alnico V single coils, these vintage-voiced machine-wound pickups deliver the lively, organic response that handwound pickups are known for, thanks to the Fine Structure Scattering Wound (FSSW) technology that the YHL team has spent years refining. This winding approach offers handwound character with machine consistency, along with a frequency response curve once achievable only with careful studio EQ. YHL’s development of FSSW winding, paired with improvements to the dual-layer pickup structure, also resolves the long-standing issue of dual-layer AntiHum designs failing to capture the realism of true single coils. The result is a noise-free dual-layer pickup that still responds with the sensitivity and rich tonal depth players expect from a traditional single coil.
With plenty of natural top-end grit and smooth bass response, these pickups are voiced to deliver rich, sparkling tones with a subtle, natural compression, especially when paired with a valve amplifier at full volume. Inspired by the bright, percussive spank of 1960s single coils, a slight midrange scoop combines with lively top-end chime to produce an authentic vintage tone, without the noise.
With a solid alder body finished in classic black gloss, a satin-finished light roasted maple neck and a 9.5" radius maple fretboard, the AS50 brings that comfortingly familiar vintage mojo to the Artist range. The classic C-shape neck carve has more than enough shoulder to grab hold of, though flatter than the baseball-bat chunk for which similar vintage models are somewhat infamous. A 42mm bone nut, dual string-trees, high-grade locking tuners, and a modern two-point tremolo ensure tuning stability even with the heaviest of trem arm abuse, as well as glorious sustain.
Each AS50 comes complete with a road-ready padded gig bag, perfect for transport from the practice space to the stage, and beyond. If that wasn't enough, we've also thrown in a set of strap-locks to help you keep this vintage-inspired classic in pristine condition, show after show, night after night.

Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.

If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
