The Learning Lounge

The Learning Lounge was established by Mike Gordon in 1997 with 9 teachers and 175 students. We are very proud to be commencing our 12th year of operating a fun and friendly place to learn and enjoy music.

Conveniently located opposite the train station and bus stop at Turramurra, The Learning Lounge is now, in it's administration role, providing it's services and premises to 18 teachers who use one of 9 one-on-one teaching rooms that are in full swing 5 days a week to teach their clients; some 350 students a week at present. These premises are open from 2.00pm till 9.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 2.00pm till 7.30pm Friday.

While we cannot accept responsibility for students outside their lesson time our staffed reception area offers a safe and comfortable place for students to wait for pickup and for parents to relax while waiting. Our hours also allow for early drop off of instruments. Tuition on a variety of instruments is offered to all ages and levels of ability.

All teachers have completed 'The Working With Children Check' declaration required of Teaching Business Owners by the Dept. Of Education, NSW and NSW Police checks are underway and will be completed by May 2011. Each teacher offers their students a unique and comprehensive way to learn music with the objective of keeping them motivated and enthusiastic. Whether students are learning for fun, joining the school band or wanting to sit for exams, the teachers can help students explore and develop their musical talent. Most of our teacher's are gigging musicians. CPM and AMEB exams are available (not all teachers offer this service) Students wanting to do their Grades and sit exams are welcome to arrange this directly through their teacher.
