Superlux PRA628MKII Supercardioid Dynamic Instrument Mic
The Superlux PRA628MKII is specifically designed for instrument amplifier miking, for live or studio use. Their flat pop screen design means these will hang in front of your amp and provide exceptional sound quality to the front-of-house, and their supercardioid directivity ensures minimal noise bleed from other instruments.
The PRA628MKII also features an extended frequency response with a higher SPL capacity, accenting the bottom end and allowing the microphone to handle some serious high-gain before feeding back. This instrument mic provides rich mids and is ideal in front of a medium-sized amplifier, plus it comes with an included clamp and carry case.

We ship all orders for free. All deliveries are insured so if an item arrives damaged we'll happily refund or replace it for you. Check our warranty page for more information.
Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.
Also included in your warranty is our industry leading 100 Days Change of Mind Policy
If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
If you do require a return, just Open a Support Ticket and we'll either send you a reply paid label for Australia Post or arrange for a collection by courier. This will depend on your location and the product you purchased. If you have any trouble you can contact us.

Bought a pair of these mics to use as all purpose recording mics. I'm impressed. I've used them on Toms for drum recording, guitar amps (obviously haha) and plan on using them for a few other purposes. Small and light but by no means a poor build quality, feels sturdy, like you could throw them into a bag for whatever you need at a moments notice. The unique clip is actually a game changer. It's long enough to clip to overhead mic stands and have them positioned just right over toms, or clip to a guitar cab and position in front of your speaker in just the right place. The plastic does feel a little cheap, but the adjustable gooseneck arm and the addition of securing screw bolts to make sure the clip doesn't fall off is a great touch. They did not move at all during recording. The storage/travel pouch is good quality and does the job as expected. They sound clear and pretty punchy. Has a nice warm mid range tone, but really captures the lower tones of a floor tom and the higher end sounds of a guitar speaker cab. Perhaps a bit less sparkle than an SM57 on guitar, but it makes up for that in mid range punch. If you are after a really affordable dynamic with nice tone, solid build and a clever clip, this is the mic for you. Easily a great alternative to the e609 or the classic SM57. Fantastic product, great price. Well done Artist!

This is a great mic. I use it in front of a small Orange crush amp. I like playing into the clean channel. Have played an AT53 an AT91V3 both sound excellent. Also played a squire Strat and a Fender Tele. All sound really nice. The mic is going into a SSL sound card and recording into Bitwig. You can hangout in front of the amp or I used the clip and small flexible mic holder it came with to clip it to the amp handle and it hangs in front about ne Ince from the grill of the amp. Totally recommend this 5 stars.

Nice mic
Used on a tweed tone 5w to get input for pa. Gem of a microphone at a good price. The included cabinet clamp isn’t great (all plastic, and not readily adjustable), but it will hold the mic in place until I can upgrade it. Have not used for recording so cannot confirm the range but it sounds great through the pa. Recommend. And artist have a great range at good value, I’ll be back.

I purchased this mic primarily to mic up my recently purchased NUXBT8 and other amps for stage and studio. I gotta say this mic certainly meets what's needed. Nice clarity and solid construction. The included carry pouch and clip on holder are virtually free, when considering the value of the microphone on it's own. I had it in the studio earlier and tested it on a couple different amps/speaker cabs. Very nice. The signal is clear and faithful.
