Really recommendedBy: Michaelis on 27 July 2021These are great. For the price, quite amazing really. I got mine on special but even full price they are a bargain.

HD688- budget price but not budget performanceBy: collin on 16 September 2020I have never heard of Superlux and was looking for a budget set of headphones which offered decent performance. I read some reviews and came across Superlux HD688. For $70 it was worth a try. Music appreciation is subjective. When I first put on these headphones, they sounded flat without much sound stage effect and I have read that there is a burn in period and it seems true because they have got better and better. The base is so punchy but it does not crowd the vocal. The ear pads are fine and not uncomfortable. . Compared to my BOSE QC25 (which I use when travelling)- the sound stage of the Superlux is not good but not by much but the base is better and considering the cost difference it is well worth it. As a price to performance ratio it is a no brainer. I really enjoy these headphones. Only time will tell how well they are made but so far so good
Not GoodBy: A on 14 August 2020(please excuse formatting, text box doesn't seem to like Newlines) After 7 months of daily use in music production / gaming / listening to music, I can say the following: // Sound is okay no problems here but nothing to brag about. Sound leaks a lot for circumaural headphones, will disrupt anyone nearby, more than you would expect of these. // Comfort is quite poor - though the overhead band is good - they off very little give for stretching, even when left to stretch over ~24hours, resulting in clamping action pressing into head and the drivers touching ears. An adjustment in padding might solve this issue but I couldn't get them to be comfortable. Get sweaty readily, but that's to be expected // Quality is quite poor, jack failed (poor connection in the dangle, have to twist and hold to get sound through) after 7 months use and maybe 3 incidents of the cable getting caught and harshly disconnected from the dangling jack (akin to a quick pull with your hands). Though the failure was sudden and not near to any of these. // I've had cheaper headphones that sound just as good last longer with more potentially damaging incidents. For that reason I wouldn't recommend this model.
Surprisingly GoodBy: Elvis Pramod Vittal on 2 August 2019Superlux 688 definitely has the "Surprise" factor. Brilliant sound stage and clarity with a flat signature. Definitely competes with headphones priced 3 times over. Jason from Artists guitars is amazing with his expert suggestions and customer service. These guys have a great thing going. Will surely recommed them to all my friends.
Awesome!By: Alex on 15 July 2019Best sound quality I have heard from a set of headphones under $400 for the price absolutely amazing I'm hearing detail in songs that I didn't hear before.
