Power hungry

I got these for use on stage with a dedicated monitor amp and they were great -- playing bass next to loud drummers. Also good for mowing the lawn! The sound when driven with just a phone is noticeably worse than with a more powerful amp. This isn't audiophile 'cable quality' stuff -- the headphones just need more voltage. Behringer HA400 (which is notably powered with 12V rather than a simple 9V supply) is good enough to make the headphones 'sing'.

Excellent headphones for a price

Ok, setup: AK4497 DAC, Shiit Magni Uber headphone amp. Generally fairly faithful representation, good nuances, reasonably wide stage for closed cans. Sound fairly dark though, which is semi-expected, but certainly not for mastering. Excellent sound isolation, nice fit. Excellent quality, nice, sturdy, good cable. Could take one star off for a bit dipped mids and highs, but to be honest nothing to complain, really. These are good headphones, period. Excellent, given the price.
