Soundbank V2.0 Update

NUX has introduced a brand new tone-processing technology, VariTone™, in the latest Soundbank V2.0. Built on advanced algorithms and strong processing performance, it deeply integrates a high-quality sample library.

The system captures subtle variations in striking position and accurately reproduces the natural tone and dynamic response of an acoustic drum kit, giving players a more realistic and immersive drumming experience.

Firmware Update Instructions

Download the updated firmware from the NUX website here, then follow the steps below:

1. Connect the DM-8 module to a computer using a USB cable.
2. Press and hold the first and third buttons below the DM-8 display screen, then plug the 9V power adapter into the DC jack to enter upgrade mode
3. Launch the MIDI DFU software: MIDI_DFU_Updater 1.0.1.dmg for macOS; MIDI_DFU_Updater.exe for Windows
4. Set the “MIDI Device Out” and the “MIDI Device In” to “DFU-MIDI”. The “Target Device” should display: DreamChipHOST.

   

   

5. Click “File” and import the file: DM8FirmwareV2.0.bin

   

   

6. Click “Start Update” to begin the upgrade and wait for the progress bar to complete.

   

   

7. After the upgrade is finished, power off the sound module.
