Julian M

Julian has been a sales and customer service assistant at Artist Guitars since July 2024. Julian is our resident gear wunderkind - if you've ever bought a repaired item from the bargain bin, or had a warranty repair performed at the showroom, chances are Julian is the man behind it!

Growing up in a musical family, all of whom are singers and multi-instrumentalists, Julian was always bound to become a muso himself! His first real experience with playing music was with the Croatian Folkloric Dancing Community, which his family has been heavily involved in for the better part of 40 years. He first picked up the Tamburica (a traditional Croatian stringed instrument) when he was around 10 years old, and he has been playing music ever since. In 2018, Julian, along with the Croatian Folkloric Ensemble Vukovar, embarked on a nationwide tour across Croatia, and in November 2024, they sold out tickets to Sydney's Seymour Centre for a concert in celebration of the group's 40th anniversary.

Although our youngest staff member, Julian is the old soul among our showroom staff! When handed the aux cord, he's likely to play anything from Stevie Ray Vaughan to Springsteen and Dylan. He particularly loves artists who prioritise lyrics and storytelling, and despite being 20 years old, it's rare to find a current top 40 artist that's crossed his desk!

Julian plays guitar and sings in his new project; folk-punk band Ducktale, who arecurrently writing their debut LP!

When we asked Julian why he liked working with us, he answered: "I love the fact that we have a great team of creative, passionate and talented musos who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience, and aren't afraid to crack a few jokes every now and then, especially at each other's expense."
