The Klowra Whorl is an ultra-compact digital rotary speaker simulator designed for players who crave the lush, swirling movement of a vintage dual-rotor cabinet without the back-breaking weight. Part of Klowra’s Budding Bloom Mini Series, the Whorl utilises an advanced three-dimensional modulation engine that models the complex acoustic interactions of physical spinning horns and drums, providing an incredibly immersive, chewing swirl that reacts organically to your performance.
Authentic Dual-Rotor Emulation and Balance
At the heart of the Whorl is a sophisticated algorithm that models separate bass drum and treble horn rotation speeds. The dedicated BAL (Balance) knob lets you dial in the exact crossfade ratio between the low-frequency drum throb and the high-frequency horn sparkle. Paired with the interactive RATE control, you can effortlessly sweep from a slow, atmospheric chorale shine to a lightning-fast, warbling tremolo texture that breathes new life into chords and solo passages alike.
Tri-Mode Mechanical Enclosure Voicings
To expand your sonic palette past a standard vintage cab setup, the Whorl features a dedicated MODE selector button that instantly swaps between three highly distinct cabinet emulations:
- Classic (White LED): Delivers a warm, woody 122-style cabinet tone with rich mid-range presence and a smooth mechanical ramp, ideal for classic blues and rock organ textures.
- Modern (Blue LED): Emulates a high-powered, clear solid-state rotary cabinet with wider high-end response and a deeper, highly pronounced physical swirl.
- Vibrato (Orange LED): Focuses the algorithm heavily into scanner-style pitch modulation, creating a watery, experimental psych-rock texture.
Adjustable Acceleration and Multi-Stage Tweaks
Recreating the dynamic thrill of a true mechanical speaker system requires control over inertial lag. The Whorl includes a three-way ACC (Acceleration) toggle switch that dictates how quickly the virtual motors transition between fast and slow settings. Combined with the comprehensive TWEAK parameter knob, players can fine-tune hidden acoustic interactions like microphone distance, internal cabinet resonance, and structural drive to perfectly adapt the swirling effect to their rig's overall character.
High-Fidelity DSP and Performance Control Hookups
Driven by Klowra's high-headroom WildSeed Engine, the Whorl boasts pristine 24-bit AD/DA converters alongside a 32-bit floating-point DSP block to retain the full frequency spectrum of your instrument. Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.

If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
