The APG34L Electric Bass is the perfect intro to bass for younger players, absolute beginners, or anyone looking for a smaller, lighter instrument that still delivers serious sound without an overwhelming learning curve. With a black poplar body finished in polyurethane and a basswood veneer, this bass is designed to turn heads, and with its solid body construction, it’s built to withstand the bumps and drops of early practice sessions.
Its one-piece maple neck features a smooth satin finish, a comfortable 23mm D profile, and a sturdy bolt-on neck joint for extra stability as you play. The 30" (762mm) short scale length dramatically reduces finger stretch and string tension, making it super easy and comfortable for beginners or players with smaller hands to fret notes cleanly. Add in the dual-action 2-way truss rod and an eco-rosewood fretboard with a 350mm radius, 19 jumbo frets (20% nickel), pearloid fret dots, white side dots, and an ABS nut (42mm / 1.65" width), and you’ve got an approachable instrument that’s ready to bring out your best sound from day one.
Electrically, the APG34L features a Split-S pickup configuration powered by a simple, straightforward QA01 split single-coil middle pickup mounted against a stylish 3-ply white pickguard. Allowing new players to plug in and get a great plug-and-play tone without worrying about complicated controls.
The chrome hardware, hardtail bridge, and chrome open-geared clover-style machine heads keep tuning reliable and easy to adjust. Strung with beginner-friendly 45-100 gauge strings and weighing in at a lightweight 2.7–3.3kg (6–7.5lbs), the APG34L prevents shoulder strain during long practice sessions while still giving you all the warm, focused punch you need. It excels at delivering iconic tones for classic rock, vintage pop, indie rock, alternative, punk, blues, soul, R&B, and tight funk or reggae grooves.
We’ve also included a complete starter pack with everything a beginner needs to start playing right out of the box: a gig bag, instrument cable, picks, strap, and an easy-to-use TN75 tuner, so you can tune up and hit the stage in no time.

We ship all orders for free. All deliveries are insured so if an item arrives damaged we'll happily refund or replace it for you. Check our warranty page for more information.
Purchases with Artist Guitars come with a 3-year Warranty. Warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and in the original country of purchase. Please take note of your order number to help us verify your purchase in the event of a warranty claim.
If the issue can be fixed by replacing a part, we will send it to you free of charge. Spare parts are shipped from our office in Sydney, Australia. If more extensive work is required our Customer Happiness department will arrange a free return slip or courier collection to get your item returned for further assessment.

If you're not completely satisfied with the quality of any of our products, we'll be happy to arrange a free return of your product for an exchange or full refund, including any shipping charges. This also covers instances where you may have bought the wrong size or if you simply change your mind.
