A real performer

9 January 2015
I bought this model guitar in 2011, play it regularly and four year's later, it's still going strong. I have a few guitars and this is what I consider a workhorse, it's got a good sound, is reliable and keeps on going. Some may want to adjust the setup a little, that's what I did, and this helped its playability significantly. But setup is a personal preference, so that's not really a fault. I've had a few good comments on the sound of the guitar, particularly when the sound engineer had their act together. It suits Country and contemporary styles very well. Whilst their undoubtedly are some better sounding and more expensive guitars out there, at the end of the day, the biggest limiting factor in performance is the musician and not the instrument. This is a modestly priced guitar that used well, can provide a fully professional sound. I have no regrets in purchasing the DS120CEQ guitar. Jose

Artist DS120CEQ Acoustic Guitar

By: on 4 August 2014
I had recently lost a guitar that I had had for twenty years. I began an exhaustive and comprehensive search for a replacement guitar that fell into my rather meagre budget. I searched all over Wellington and I did find two guitars that I could have bought but they were slightly out of my budget. I then took to looking at the internet for a guitar. I found Artists Guitars on Trademe (NZ) and straight up the prices where in my reach. I found the guitar I liked and began a pretty serious search of the net to find any review or you tube footage of it I could find. What I did find pretty much cemented the deal for me and I proceeded with the purchase of a Artist DS120CEQ Acoustic Guitar. Ordering was easy and the staff a pleasure to deal with. The shipment to NZ took roughly six working days, it being held up in NZ customs for four of them. About the guitar. I played a festival gig last night and he guitar performed brilliantly. The tone was crisp with a nice cusp of bottom end warmth. it easily kept up with my band mates Maton, I know. The neck feels nice in the palm of my hand, not to shallow and not to bulking. I was quiet impressed with the guitars action straight out of the box. For the price I paid I am pretty happy with this lil guitar. Cheers guyz.

Excellent Quality to Value Ratio

By: on 27 June 2013
Purchased this guitar so I could busk, play at parties, camping etc without having to risk badly damaging my Maton. Also so I could have different tunings on hand at any time. Sound and playability wise I was amazed at the quality for this price. Excellent!!! The Finish and workmanship are great, and overall it looks equally as impressive. As is common with many guitars in this price range the action does come a little high from the factory but that is easily fixed. A replacement set of strings is probably recommended also. Overall I would give it 5 stars and it is easily the best quality instrument I've played under $450. With the guarantees and warranty included I doubt you'd find a better deal.
