Very nicely finished, easy to tune , holds tune well. Sweet sound and plenty of projection. I would have no doubt this is the best Mandolin you will find at this price and I very much doubt you would get a better Mandolin at twice the price. As Molly Meldrum says do yourself a favour!

MD100+C; Impressive for the money

By: on 31 March 2017
I'd wanted to dabble with a mandolin while jamming with mates for a while now, and artist guitars has made me able to facilitate that yearning at a great entry level cost point. My main axe is an all solid epiphone dreadnought so I thought I'd be suitably disappointed with build quality and tonal properties from this mandolin. Well, eating my hat wasn't too much fun, but playing this mandolin is! It arrived in great condition (case, body neck, frets and strings all in great order), barely needed a setup, and sounds and plays great. Put some quality string on the beast and be prepared to be blown away all over again. This little mando defintiely punches above it's price tag, and will cut through the mix , un-amplified, in a live all acoustic situation no worries. Sure, I could've bought a nicer mandolin from a store, but I would've paid more than what I paid for the whole thing from Artist on a case alone. From the ones I did eyeball in a couple of Local Guitar Stores, quality would've been very comparable too. Added points for the case looking like a 30's mafia gun receptacle. Again, Artist has set the bar for low budget guitars very, very high. Impressive, boys. Keep it up.
