What’s Under the Pickguard? - Our S-Style Guitars’ Routing

In the past, we’ve talked about the different pickup configurations that are available on Artist Guitars. For our S-Style guitars, we have a few variations:

HSS: AS1, AS1L, ST62II, AS72
SSS: ST62, STMVG, STMVGL, MINIG, MINIGL
H: EB2

In the search for your perfect guitar tone, these different pickup variations provide a range of tonal options.

Well, we’ve taken a few steps to help you out with crafting your ideal instrument, because what you might not notice without looking under the cover is that all of the guitars above are routed HSS, even if they come with different pickups. If you take off the strings, remove the pickguard, and take a peek under the cover, you’ll notice that there is some extra space in the routing, to accommodate for different pickup options.

Take a look at the photos of the EB2 below. While it may appear to only have one humble humbucker, underneath you’ll see the potential for two more Single Coils. The extra routing also helps keep our S-Style guitars nice and lightweight!

If you’re in the market for your dream S-Style guitar, but you can’t quite find one with the pickup arrangement you want, there’s always room in the future for building the perfect instrument!
