The strap pin, also called a strap button, is screwed into the body of the guitar and is designed to support the instrument while you play standing up. If it starts spinning or pulling away from the body, it should be repaired before the screw hole becomes more damaged.
What you’ll need:
Carefully remove the screw holding the strap pin in place. Keep the screw and strap pin somewhere safe while you inspect the hole.
If the screw simply turns without tightening, the wood around the screw may have become worn or compressed.

For a small amount of wear, the classic toothpick-and-glue repair works well.
Apply a small amount of wood glue to a wooden toothpick and insert it into the damaged screw hole. You may need more than one toothpick if the hole is particularly loose.
Allow the glue to dry completely, then carefully trim the toothpick flush with the surface of the guitar.

Place the strap pin back over the repaired hole and reinstall the original screw.
Tighten it firmly, but do not overtighten it. Excessive force can strip the repaired hole or damage the surrounding wood.
Once tightened, gently test the strap pin by hand before putting the full weight of the instrument on it.
