About Artist Guitars Factory Seconds

This is a factory second product which means it didn't pass our Quality Control test. It could be due to minor scratches, small marks, a slight discolouration of the wood, the paint could be a different colour or some other minor cosmetic issues. Each guitar will usually only have one of these issues. They play and function perfectly and sound the same as the guitars that passed quality control. Unfortunately, we can't show pictures of individual guitars.

We have a very strict Quality Control and if the guitars were damaged significantly or the sound of the guitar was changed they would not have become a factory second (we have 3 different grades for damaged products depending on how damaged an item is). This is a great buy and just like all of our products it also comes with 100-days free returns and a full 3-year warranty.

Issues like holding the guitar, using a plectrum and some simple exercises to start you off.

So whether you're 7 or 70, take some time to check out the lesson pack and most importantly - be patient and have fun! Note that you would need to be logged into your Artist Guitar's account and you would have to subscribe to our Newsletter first to receive the link to the lesson program. You can UNSUBSCRIBE as soon as you get the link.

Here are the reasons why this guitar is great:

It has Steel Strings for a great sound. Watch the video above and have a listen to the audio clip to hear how it sounds. Most beginner guitars have nylon strings but unless you want to play classical or Spanish music, you may be disappointed. (If you do prefer the sound of a classical/Spanish style guitar, please check our Classical Guitar Category).

It has a Low String Action (all our guitars are set-up at the factory for optimum beginner playing level). String action is the measurement from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string. This is very important because a guitar with a high action is hard to play, a guitar with too low an action will buzz and sound bad. Artist Guitars are set up at the factory for the optimum level for a beginner.

A Truss Rod that allows you to correct for the effects of weather on the guitar help keep the neck straight and the action height the neck can be adjusted.

Comes included with a Bag to protect your guitar, Strap and Preamp with Built in Tuner - A tuner for a beginner is vital. A guitar needs to be tuned every time you play. As ours is built into the guitar its always in the right place. It's extremely simple to use so you will be using it correctly in no time at all.

Die-cast Machine Heads - This means your guitar will tune quicker, be more stable and stay in tune longer

Recommended by some of Australia's top guitar teachers.

We include a range of Support Materials including how to tune, how to read tab, basic chord shapes and much more.

Our price is always Lower Than a Retail Store (often by 30-40%) we keep our prices low by only selling our own range of guitars direct from the factory. Our business is built on offering a great value guitar at a great price.

1am 65 and have been been playing since my teens and over the years have bought and sold many guitars as you do.custom shop stratt Cole Clarke Tele ,Dobro,a couple of Martins ,etc. My grandson asked for one to learn on but I just couldn’t pass away any of my babies so I thought to get him 2nd hand one .After lookin around decided on the Artist .the listing read well and I know the seller also does high end stuff but to produce one of this quality is a credit to the Seller .5 stars all round ,don’t hesitate as I know I’m giving my grandson a quality start.

Lovely little guitar

I'm planning on travelling overseas next year and I wanted a guitar that I was willing to take on an aeroplane. I'd had my eye on the LSPSCEQ for a while, and when a factory second version came during the July sale, I jumped at the chance. As far as I can tell, the only blemishes on it are some marks on the edges of the headstock and a couple of darker spots on the fretboard. There's nothing structurally wrong with the guitar at all, and I think the marks give it a nice bit of character. The guitar is lovely to play, especially after I put a set of D'Addario EXP16s on it. The neck is a little thicker than I'm used to, but it didn't take me long to get used to it. It has a nice tone for a laminated top, and sounds really good either acoustically, or plugged in. Here's a video of me playing some Hawaiian Slack Key on it: https://youtu.be/pHIzIpUMmLU
