Artist AJBDLX Deluxe Bass Guitar & Padded Bag

Finally, we're bringing the high-end to the low-end! Introducing the Artist AJBDLX - the ultimate journeyman bass guitar for the studio, the stage, and beyond. Featuring a roasted poplar body, a satin-finished, one-piece roasted maple neck, a classic 9.5" radius Bolivian Rosewood fretboard, and four classic gloss finishes, the AJBDLX is nothing revolutionary, which is exactly why you'll love it. After all, why mess with what works?

If you're the kind of player who prioritises familiar playability, rugged build quality, dependable hardware, and superior tone over the latest flavour-of-the-month innovation, you'll find everything you ever hoped for in this one! However, that's not to say the AJBDLX is your standard, run-of-the-mill bass guitar - it may be simple, but every component on this one has been agonised over to ensure it delivers simplicity like no other. With a 38mm bone nut, bar string tree, high-grade tuning machines, and a high-density, chrome-plated zinc alloy bridge, the AJBDLX delivers night after night, gig after gig. Striking a perfect balance between sustain and attack, the top-loader bridge on this one puts a veritable smorgasbord of tonal options at your fingertips, whether you're after that muted flatwound sound, booming classic rock punch, funky slap tones, or anything in between.

Dial in a pair of balanced, medium-output Alnico V pickups with a classic control configuration - a dedicated volume knob for each pickup, and a master tone control, in case your low-end needs a little more low! These pickups are voiced to deliver vintage-style growl, with plenty of low mid-range and sublime harmonic complexity, complementing a tight low-end punch that will slot into your live mix with minimal tweaking.

Each AJBDLX comes complete with a road-ready, padded gig bag, perfect for transporting from the practice space to the stage and beyond. For a bass that feels like home, no matter how far from home the stage may be, look no further than the AJBDLX.

Artist AJBDLX

By: on 19 February 2026
I have had mine for a few years now, and though I have not played it for a while, this is my evaluation. I did own a Fender Jazz Bass, and now I have the Artist one. They look quite the same, and the finish appears the same, in other words, well done. I put USA made strings on and did not even try try the original strings. Anyway, the tone sounds to me, really quite similar, again very good. One thing the Artist is quite better is the sustain. The Artist strings all ring out with excellent sustain and all the string are of equal loudness. The Fender's E and G strings were rather dead, as far as ringing sustain, yeah, bass should not sustain etc,. but you can control that with your fingers, and a bit of sustain for a whole beat gives bottom when it fills in. In total, I give full marks to the Artist AJBDLX. A big 'AND', the cost of the Artist being modest, you can by a nice amp, big g g and loud, and then mike it as well. lol. Great axe guys, buy one.
