Unbelievable (good) customer service

By: Craig on 6 June 2019
These guys are absolutely unbelievable for customer service (in a good way). I bought a white vintage PJ style bass off artists guitars a couple of years ago and love it. But just recently whilst restringing it the nut cracked. So I contacted artist guitars to find out if I could buy a new one. They were great. They said they would help me out as soon as possible. I thought they meant they would have to track one down for me or order one in from somewhere. 4 days later I get a new nut for my bass in the mail with an already paid invoice. I checked my bank account and had not been charged. So I rang artist guitars, who said that there would be no charge for the replacement nut. I know it's just a $25 item but we are on earth do you get customer service like that? I'm completely blown away. Why would you go anywhere else? I wish my Internet and phone companies would take a leaf out of their book lol (not a chance). I highly recommend Artist Guitars for the instruments and the best customer service on the planet.

PJ hybrid bass

Wow, what can I say? Between the quality of this bass and the level of customer service at Artist, I just could not be happier. Ordered one morning and had an arrival the very next day! Chuffed would be an understatement.. After a quick tune I was off and running and boy was I impressed, this bass looks and sounds like a much more expensive machine. I really wasn't expecting anything overly special for its price, just something to practice with, but I would not hesitate to use this as my main for recording or gigging, its that good.. For the price you just cannot get anything near the quality of this from other guitar sellers or brands, and the support and customer service at Artist is just fantastic also, I will definitely be placing more orders in the future. Great great great work guys!!

Review Update #1

By: Jarrod Woodbury on 26 December 2018
Upon doing some more setup on this bass, I've found that the nut sits just a little to low to where if you fret the 3rd (or 2nd, depending on how you look at it) fret, the strings rest on the 1st fret which shouldn't happen and given that the nut piece isn't adjustable, it means that it would have to be taken out and shimmed up. Again, for the price it's still a great quality bass. Just the small things that can easily be fixed are getting the noticed.

What a Bass!

Just got this Bass for Christmas and playing it feels amazing! The tone's you can achieve are so wide that you can pretty much get a solid tone for whatever style you're playing. This is also my first experience playing an Active Bass and the Active/Passive switch in the volume knob is probably the most convenient thing to have. I got it with the hard case - which feels like a nice, sturdy, gig-worthy construction and the added storage area where the neck lies is a huge help! I will add, though... The neck profile is a little thick for my liking (I'm used to my Warwick Rockbass Streamer which has a thin neck profile), but other than that, after making a few adjustments to suit my playing style (I have a heavy touch when playing so I have to raise the string 2.5 turns with the Allen Key to lift the strings off the neck to avoid as much fret buzz as I can), I now feel confident taking this bass out to live gigs. There are still some minor adjustments I'd like to make, like sanding back the gloss finish on the neck and re-finishing it with a Tongue Oil to make for a smoother, faster play, and possibly fine-tuning intonation and everything else but they're all minor details at the moment. All in all, a great bass for anyone to have and at a great price!

Great Bass

By: Robert Comber on 10 August 2018
Very pleased with the guitar, sounds, looks and plays beautifully. Disappointed that there was no manual provided or even a basic guide. I have been playing in bands for over 50 years and have always had a guide or manual in every new guitar or amp that I have purchased. This bass has no guide to what the switch and the four knobs do. I had to contact Artist and find out, obviously I was regarded as an idiot for asking such stupid questions as everyone knows what they do, I felt sarcasm and started to feel embarrassed so I finished the discussion. I purchased an amp the next day from another supplier and it arrived in 28 hours with included manual from Sydney, my bass took 7 days to arrive. Excellent Bass, but delivery very slow, no manual or basic guide, and sarcasm is not customer service
