About this Artist HG39303CEQ Classical Guitar Solid Cedar Top + Cutaway and EQ
This is one of my personal favourites. The solid cedar top gives it a really warm sound and we have added a Spanish heel. For those of you that don't know, the Spanish heel is a much more difficult way of making a guitar but it greatly improves the sustain. On standard Classical guitars they often use dowels to attach the neck and a lot of tone can be lost through this joint.
As with all our solid top guitars we use a bone nut and saddle, the hardness of the bone allows great tone and sustain, the typical plastic nuts are quite soft and have the effect of deadening the sound.
This model also comes with a Fishman Presys pre-amp/pickup with built-in tuner, so if you want to perform or record this is ideal for you.

Definitely not just a beginners guitarWhen I bought this guitar I was already very aware of the high quality Artist Guitars delivers. I hadn't had a classical guitar in a while as I usually play steel string acoustics and for a little while now electrics. Still I was keen on having a classical guitar back in my collection. But I also wasn't eager to spend some four digit number for a decent instrument. This particular guitar came up in the Bargain Bin with problems with the pick up and thus came with a very interesting price tag. And I'm so happy I bought it. I'll be able to fix the pick up by myself but actually I'll take my time with it as I play it as it is - acoustic. If played blindly I would usually place this guitar closer to a four digit price. The sound is really nice and sustain is good, too. The finish is beautiful and the machine heads seem to be decent enough. I particularly like the red knobs. Looks great. It plays well and can be properly set up as well as it comes with a truss-rod. Mine didn't need any set up though. I watched the video from Peter Northcote and this guitar is NOT a beginners guitar. Well, it can be if you want it to be. But this description doesn't do it justice. It is a very decent classical guitar with a nice Fishman pick up and I can easily recommend it for an intermediate player or a second for a more advanced classical guitar player.
