Artist EDK924M 9-Piece Electronic Drumkit with Mesh Drum Heads
Featuring the newest Electronic Drumkit from Artist! The Artist EDK924M is a 9-piece Electronic Drumkit featuring Mesh Drum Heads for the kick pad, snare, and 3 toms. With the new mesh heads, they give you a remarkably close feel and rebound similar to an acoustic drumkit.
The module features 240 different sounds, 10 preset drum kits, and 5 slots customized drumkits. You can create your own monster drum kit! In set up mode you can adjust the threshold, pad sensitivity, rim sensitivity, cross talk, and velocity curve. These parameters let you customize the feel to your playing style.
The snare pad uses a TRS input to allow double triggering (snare and rimshot) The Crash 1, Crash 2 and Ride Cymbals have cymbal chokes (by grabbing the cymbal you can stop it ringing). The drumkit also offers recording and a coaching function to assist in learning and practice. The drumkit module allows media devices to be connected for using backing tracks and playing along to your favourite songs.
The drums sounds on this kit are all centred. There's no ability to pan the sounds left or right.
The module has a connection for a USB cable. This connection allows the drum kit to be used as a MIDI device on a computer. Plug it in and your computer will install the necessary drivers. It will then be visible in your digital audio workstation software as a MIDI controller, allowing you to use an infinite number of drum sounds, and recording your MIDI drums directly into the software!
Note: The USB connection does not allow for audio interfacing with a computer.

This is a very good cheap drumkit, it does the job for the price i paid, BUT sometimes when i hit the corner of one of the toms it plays a cymbal, for example sometimes when i hit the 1st tom it sometimes plays the hithat and crash, other than that its a good kit

Very Impressive Drum Kit!
I see some reviews here where parents bought this electronic drum kit for their kids... is all I can say is those are some very lucky kids. Because I can only wish I had this drum kit when I was learning to play drums as a teenager over 40 years ago. Never played drums much after switching over to play bass guitar in bands and played professionally on and off in bands for many years. However 24 years ago I decided I wanted to play solo and started using midi backing tracks for all my other instrumentation. So I have toyed with this idea about buying an electronic drum kit now for sometime to write backing tracks with, but good quality kits to do what I needed were way out of my price range. I am not a new Artist customer, I bought an Artist Blue Cloud 24 fret electric guitar while ago and the build quality and the hardware is very quality, and it is now my favorite guitar to play and prefer it over my Fender Stratocaster, because the sustain quality is out of this world and it rarely goes out of tune. So if Artist make guitars this good at such great price, how bad can an Artist Electronic Drum kit be right? My kit has only just arrived, but at this point of time this drum kit is living up to my expectations and some. The things I really love most about this drum kit is it's sheer flexibility, simple console and the range of drum kits. The next thing I really love about this kit is it's compact size when set up (1.2m x 1.2m) because I have very limited space in my music room. I have no space for a acoustic drum kit so this fits perfect. I found the kit was very simple to set up once I unboxed it and laid everything out on the floor. I took it slowly and followed the instructions and was playing the kit in about an hour from when I first opened the box. The 'Coach' is great to help me sharpen up by drumming skills after so many years of not playing drums very much. The sticking drills, brought everything I learned so many years ago straight back. One thing caught me completely off guard that I didn't expect. Having been a bass player who played with some really awesome drummers I instantly found myself playing much more modern drum patterns simply because of the versatility this kit offers. And that will go really well my very diverse styles of music. So that was a real unexpected surprise! I also decided to order the 4th tom for the kit today, so I am now looking forward to adding that as soon as it arrives to really expand this kit some more. Who knows I may have to teach myself how to play double kick drum and really put this kit to the test.

Solid Beginner/Intermediate Electric Drum Kit!
I bought the Artist EDK924 a few weeks ago and have been pretty impressed it. It has good pads, the mesh heads are responsive and bouncy and it sounds are fairly good aswell. The only thing that I'm not entirely happy about is the module, the layout's kinda funky, it's a bit hard to navigate, it feels a bit cheap, it only has a single mono output, and it'd be nice to have a bit more options for third party upgrades, but I can't really complain for the price. Even my extremely picky drummer friend liked it, which was completely unexpected. Overall, its a pretty great buy if you're looking for a cheap, reliable kit for home practice!

Great feeling kit with lifelike sounds
I played drums for years until I moved to somewhere where sound would be a problem. I had started thinking about an electronic kit and was watching the promo video for this kit. When the musician mentioned the tactile feedback of the heads I was convinced. And it's true! the material of the heads makes it feel like a regular kit, and the sounds library makes the kit feel exactly like you want it to. Bang for buck!
I must say from the moment I unpacked this kit I was thinking it was going to be too small for me. Until I assembled it and sat in front of it. I'm quite a big guy and the flexibility of the frame is brilliant. I love the feel of the mesh heads and kit's 'brain' is fun to play with too. Delivery was prompt arriving in 2 days. I spent the better part of 2 months looking at this to kits over $3k but I am glad I saved all that money as this perfect for me to practise in my room without alienating everyone in a 2km radius!

Perfect kit to practice and learn, but I replaced
The kit is awesome, the sounds are actually way better than I was expecting from a generic kit, and the pads are larger and feel as good or better than the Roland tdk1dmk. The cymbals are very okay, they work. I don’t really like the stool (I am short, and I still think it’s very hard to make the stool higher than the default size, so if you are tall, you’re going to need a replacement from the first day). The pedal spring doesn’t work as a normal pedal. It’s really not responsive. It’s fine for single strokes, but if you want to learn and practice pivot or want to improve speed, get a new pedal. The pedal from the kit also keeps going up because is too light. I hate the pedal, really did. The worse part is that when I tested at the warehouse, they setup with a different pedal that was way better. It’s a shame. The headphone is quite nice. I replaced my Sennheiser with the one that it came. It’s pretty solid. The pads are singles strokes, only snare has rimshot, and all cymbals also are singles, even ride (bell sound can be added to the spare crash, which is also another cool thing to have). The hi-hat pedal is okay, not amazing, but you can’t compare to a proper pedal, right? The bass pad is awesome! The module midi works fine with GarageBand, iPad, MacBook, any apps with MIDI will be super fun! Like Melodics, InstaDrum, Freedrum and so on. I tested a bunch of apps, and the dynamics and responsive are working very well. PS: I wish they sell this kit without the stool and pedal and make it cheaper. I would give 5 stars if.

After looking around and realizing how much the price of acoustic kits had soared since I last built my kit, I was lucky to find Artist Guitars were selling drums also. The processor sounds great and is easy to use unlike some of it competitors. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend this kit to anyone who is looking for a good kit at home.

Had the kit for a couple of months now and everything is really really great about this kit. Everything works well and feels good. I recommend ditching the headphones that come with it for something a little better, a personal choice, but I like it loud! It also takes some fiddling around to tune the kick just the way you like it, but the same can be said for all kicks. Once you've got your kit sounds all setup and the kick setup the way you like it this kit is an absolute little ripper!! I would highly recommend it for beginners through to medium skill levels. I think an advanced drummer MAY want a few extra sounds for their kit and they are generally happier to spend more money and get a really really nice kit, but even an advanced drummer would be happy with this kit, they may just want a few extra bells and whistles. Bottom line - Great kit, great price!

Yeah, this kit is awesome value
Previously owned an Alesis DM10 and think this is way better. While the snare is a little bit small, all of the mesh pads feel really nice and have a very good bounce to them. Sounds in the module were surprisingly not too bad, but am I am primarily using USB to trigger Superior Drummer 3 on my PC. Honestly, for its price, I really can't fault it.

Good kit for may reasons.
Sometimes you live in a flat, sometimes you can't afford a decent kit, and sometimes, like me, drums are not your first instrument and you want to save space for more important things.... like more guitars. I love this simple little kit, it takes up very little room (and with an Allen key it takes up even less) it feels good, it sounds great. And most importantly it does what I need it to do, which is as a midi controller for recording in the studio. If like me, you are after a simple, basic kit that doesn't take up a heap of space, feels like a real kit and works flawlessly with the computer, then this one might be what you are looking for. Sure you could spend more, but why not save the money and put it toward that all important next big guitar in your life...

GOOD START IN LIFE
This is very much an entry-level electronic drum kit, but is actually packed with features the brand names don't give you. Two zones for snare, cymbal chokes, 4 zones for high hat, small and space saving, a squillion sounds to build your own kits. A bit too much computer space is given over to useless things like drum tutor and tracks to play along with. I would have preferred more than 5 user-saved kits, like 20. But all the ins and outs are there that you need, and as a starting place, this kit ranks very high on value for money.
