Artist CHERRY58 TRD Hollow Body Electric Guitar
Artist CHERRY58TRD Hollow Body Electric Guitar
This classic style guitar has existed in many forms since it was first released in 1958. Since then it has been coveted by some of the greatest Rock 'n Roll, Blues, and Jazz guitarists that the world has ever known. Legendary names like BB King, Freddie King, John McLaughlin, Larry Carlton, Jorma Kaukonen, Eric Clapton, and Elvin Bishop are among the multitude of players who have loved the diverse tones that this type of instrument offers. Now it's your turn!
The Artist Cherry58 offers a perfect entry-level guitar for those wishing to begin their journey into the world of blues and Jazz. With the typical set-neck, this guitar is truly a "blues machine". Like the body, the neck is constructed of maple on an eco-friendly purpleheart fretboard. This wood is a fine substitute for rosewood which is now considered a highly endangered species and as a result is rarely if ever used in general guitar building these days. The 22 frets show off the 'Dot' shaped plastic inlays and when you add to the comfortable "C" shape neck the standard tune-o-Matic bridge and stop-bar tailpiece, you have a guitar that will not only feel great under your fingers but one that will sustain forever.
The Cherry58 sports chrome-covered Humbuckers with Alnico V magnets which means that you have the option of the warm throaty tones of the neck pickup or the biting clean sounds of the bridge pickup. When you set your toggle switch in between neck and bridge pickup you get that wonderful almost out of phase sound which confirms that this is an extremely versatile guitar that will be very responsive under your fingers. You will be able to put a stamp on all those great blues solos and wail like the greats or you could darken the tone to suit the "cool" of any dingy little jazz club.
The Cherry58 awaits. Are you ready to take it on?
Here are the reasons why this guitar is great:
It has a Low String Action (all our guitars are set-up at the factory for the optimum beginner playing level). String action is the measurement from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string. This is very important because a guitar with a high action is hard to play, a guitar with too low an action will buzz and sound bad. Artist Guitars are set up at the factory for the optimum level for a beginner.
Die-cast Machine Heads - This means your guitar will tune quicker, be more stable, and stay in tune longer.
We include a range of Support Materials including how to tune, how to read tab, basic chord shapes, and much more.
Our price is always Lower Than a Retail Store (often by 30-40%) we keep our prices low by only selling our own range of guitars direct from the factory. Our business is built on offering a great value guitar at a great price.
Artist Guitars has been designing guitars for over 10 years and during this time we have developed a great working relationship with our factories to constantly improve the quality and value - we know how to get a great value guitar at a truly unbeatable price!

Real Good GuitarBy: GregW on 12 January 2021,,,,if you take your time, and set these things up well. You've got a real alive responsive electric guitar. The build quality on these is great. The playability is great. The sound is excellent when they're set up well. Ive been a player for a long time, and could never really afford a Gibbo335. You're definitely in the the semi acoustic ballpark with this model guitar. Thing is with semi acoustics, when you play amplified, they have a certain bloom about them and a certain pocketed string attack. It's a very live in the moment type of string response. Hence you're gonna get connected in that moment as a player. Also with the centre solid block you get a sustain that will rival a Les Paul. The Alnico pickups in the these things are nice and clean. They sound good clean, they sound good with the overdrive on. The pricepoint here is very very doable. The case fits too. Big stars from me here.
Fantastic value for money yet againBy: Andrew H on 24 December 2020This is my second Artist guitar (the first was the Telecaster TC59) and straight out of the box it was brilliant! I have been playing a long time and regularly play in front of a few hundred people and I won't hesitate to recommend Artist guitars for those who want great value, something that is reliable and holds its tune, and yet if it gets scratched or damaged, you are not on the floor weeping! The ES335 I just got is such amazing value...easily as good as any Epiphone or other $1000 mark guitar, and I can't fault it. Even the pickups and tone is good enough as is! Seriously, give them a try, you won't be disappointed in Artist guitars! Great customer service too...I had a question, and it was answered and solved within 30 minutes!!
Great serviceBy: Debra on 10 November 2020Recently ordered the Cherry 58 TRD from Artist. Fast delivery, nice guitar. Christmas present for husband. I'm sure he will love it.
Cherry 58 Good Guitar Great ServiceBy: David on 8 October 2020No complaints from me. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing (long story, as I purchased a customer return initially) I am very happy with my Cherry 58. It's comfortable, sounds good (to my untrained ear), plays as well or better that the equivalent Epiphone that costs around twice the money. The finish is excellent. I love the feel of the neck, even though it is lacquered my hand doesn't feel like it is sticking (unlike the Epiphones). In my experience, buying online can be a problem when you need customer service, but Artist are superb, always quick to respond to my queries (however obscure, e.g. "how much does it weigh?" etc), and happily sorted out a return for the first guitar I purchased. If you want a semi-hollow and don't want to fork out a heap of cash I definitely recommend the Cherry 58, and Artist will look after you.
Beyond satisfiedBy: Sophie on 7 October 2020This was a birthday present for my husband and he absolutely loves it. I am so impressed with the quality of this guitar. I know where I'll be doing my Xmas shopping this year!
CHERRY58By: Pete on 20 August 2020I'm not usually the sort of person who would buy a guitar without playing it first but this one had some good reviews so I dived in. The service from Artist was fantastic. They answered all my queries beforehand and I couldn't believe how quickly the guitar arrived after purchase (four days in the current situation, wow). As to the guitar itself out of the box finish was really good, pickups sounded great, tuners seemed fine. Dropped the action a bit and it played well. After a fret dress and setup (I can do that myself) I am really happy with how this guitar came out. It's a keeper for sure. Only minor dislike (purely cosmetic) is the pickguard which is a bit of an odd shape compared to the original but I just removed it and actually prefer the look. Well done Artist this is a great guitar for the money.
Beautiful to look at, and play ..By: Bob Blackburn on 25 July 2020After borrowing my son's guitar and amp (you know, one of the things that he lost interest in and ended up leaving them 'at home' with the oldies, I started getting more and more interested in playing again after about a 35 year break. I'm using his amp, but the Cherry58 TRD is mine, all mine, and I'm loving getting back into it. I recall buying a brand new USA Strat in the early 80' sometime - let me tell you, the quality finish case and playability of the Artist is as good as, if not better. If you ever wanted to play a hollow body electric but couldn't afford an ES355 Gibson or Epiphone, this is just about perfect. The intonation on one string is sightly out but not enough for me to worry about yet. High quality instrument at a bargain price; couldn't be happier. Now I'm saving for the Tele (and probably the Strat - you can't have too many guitars).
Just a great guitarBy: Chris Lee on 23 July 2020Read and watched the reviews of this guitar and am glad I made the purchase. Only new to guitar playing I was using an Epiphone Les Paul Special II and was finding it uncomfortable to move around the guitar. Thank GOD I came across this guitar, straight out of the box sounded really good and was way easier to handle from a learning perspective. Even got my guitar teacher to test the guitar and he was blown away with the quality of the product, quality of the sound and versatility of the guitar. Thank you Artist as I am thoroughly enjoying playing this stunning guitar.
