With an ultra-lightweight black gloss-finished paulownia body, modern electronics, and the most sought-after neck in our range, the all-new AS68 brings vintage flair to the 21st century in style. Featuring a quartersawn roasted maple neck topped with a stunning dark rosewood fretboard, this blacked-out beast plays like butter... and if that wasn't enough, we've equipped this one with 22 stainless steel frets on a 14-inch radius fretboard, yielding ultra-low action and superb playability.
A set of Alnico V single coil pickups delivers classic chime and jangle, while the vintage output bridge humbucker provides some extra snarl for the riffers among you. Voiced for superb articulation, these vintage-output single pickups toe a fine line... outputting 6.55K & 6.8K in the neck and middle positions respectively, they're mellow enough to deliver that classic 60s bell-like chime, but with more than enough output to respond dynamically to pick pressure, pushing the front-end of your amplifier for that glorious edge-of-breakup sound heard on many a classic record. Similarly, the bridge humbucker on this one, outputting 8.66K, is voiced for dynamic classic rock saturation, as opposed to a tighter modern crunch - think mid-range bite, lower compression, touch sensitivity, and clear articulation - though with more than enough bite to keep the mosh pit awake.
A set of vintage-style cream button locking tuners gives the AS68 some old-world charm, while the 42mm bone nut keeps tuning incredibly stable, even under heavy tremolo use.
