Artist AS10 Electric Guitar w/ Single Coil Pickups & Padded Bag

The Artist AS10 is the ultimate value electric guitar for gigging pros and beginners alike. Whether you're just starting or looking for an affordable guitar to tour with, the AS10 delivers professional feel and features at a beginner-friendly price.

Featuring a solid roasted poplar body finished in a sleek gloss, paired with a modern C profile roasted maple neck and fretboard, the neck on the AS10 feels every bit as good as the guitars you're too scared to bring outside the studio! With an ultra-smooth satin-finished neck and tough 25% nickel frets, this one plays like butter, but is tough enough to withstand years of rough and tumble gigging without a refret.

With a set of vintage-output ceramic single-coil pickups, the AS10 avoids the harshness usually associated with higher-output ceramic pickups, with the lower winding instead yielding bright, sparkling tones with plenty of mid-range warmth, perfect for everything from glassy sparkle to wild fuzz goodness. The vintage-style six-screw tremolo gives you the option to engage in classic rock screams and wails to your heart's content, safe in the knowledge that your tuning will remain rock-steady thanks to a set of high-grade chrome tuning machines and a rock-solid 42mm ABS nut.

If that wasn't enough, the AS10 comes complete with a road-ready padded gig bag, perfect for transport to school, lessons, or for the back of a van to the green room, ad infinitum!

Excellent value for money!

This is the 6th Artist guitar I’ve bought now, and despite the fact that almost all of them were more expensive I think this is the best guitar I’ve played from Artist, for how affordable it is including the case it’s a no brainer for anyone looking to play around with a Strat style guitar. You’d easily be paying over $500+ from other guitar brands for something of this quality, so for the price, including the fairly decent case, this is such great value

Fantastic Value For Money

Bought myself an AS10 on impulse after seeing a post about it on the Artist Facebook page. $229 for a Strat copy with standard pickup & control format, roasted maple neck & an included quality gig bag seemed too good to be true but that’s definitely not the case. Straight out of the box I was impressed by the quality of the gig bag, nicely padded & well constructed. Inside sat the gorgeous mint green AS10, finish is excellent, nice light body and oh, that neck!!! Modern slim C profile, no sharp fret ends, nice low action & intonation almost spot on! The only downside is the ABS nut was cut a fraction too low for the low E & A strings which caused the occasional buzz. Checked the neck relief with my notched straight edge & its spot on, fret rocker didn’t reveal any nasty high frets either. In time I will replace the nut with a bone one but in the meantime a tiny piece of thin laminate pouch plastic under the E & A strings at the nut has made it very playable. The pickups are a little tinny but perfectly adequate for a beginner, tone & volume controls nice & smooth & progressive, absolutely no electrical noise whatsoever. Positions 2 & 4 are probably my t with the original pickups as they’re full & warm. With a little dialling in of my amp I’m sure there are better times to be coaxed out of them. Tremolo is nicely set up & balanced, returns to neutral pretty much every time. Overall it’s a great looking budget guitar that I wouldn’t be ashamed to use live. I intend to add a bone nut, some different pickups & probably some full size volume & tone pots with a Gilmour switch mod (my favourite) allowing combined neck & bridge pickup settings. Even with all the new parts I think it’s going to be an incredible guitar for a seriously reasonable price that will hold its own with most guitars in the $1000 area Beginner - just get one Intermediate - get one & add a bone nut Modification guy - fantastic platform for whatever takes your fancy!
