Artist ABM36 Natural Travel Tenor Acoustic Bass w/ EQ

With the great success of our TG100EG Tenor Acoustic Guitar, we thought it was only right to flesh out the rest of the tenor band string section... Introducing the ABM36, a solid Sitka top acoustic tenor bass guitar that keeps up with the best of them, all in a package smaller than your dreadnought acoustic guitar.

With a 23.5" scale length, a C-shaped Okoumen neck with a Purple Heart fingerboard, and a bone nut, this is the highest-quality acoustic bass guitar in our range. Perfect for those holidays around the campfire that always seem to lack a little low-end, now the guitarists have a little competition as the life of the party. Whether you're always on the move, or just looking for a smaller bass, this painstakingly constructed instrument gives you the best of both worlds - Booming bass without the back problems.

The ABM36 comes set up for A, D, G, C or Tenor tuning. You can either think of it as a bass guitar starting from the fifth fret, or learn it as a completely new instrument!

Equipped with an in-built pickup, you can pair this with one of the many awesome battery-powered amps we have to offer, and you'll have a whole bass rig you can strap on your back!

Anyone for a little bass?

By: on 24 December 2025
I’m rather thrilled with this ‘travel tenor’ A/E bass. I’d recently also bought the Artist Grungemaster (Bass VI), which I’ve been enjoying, but I’m sort-of new to bass guitar and I needed something with a shorter scale to ease and hopefully strengthen my arthritic old hands, that didn’t need to be amplified to practise. This one is fun, and genuinely audible without amplification. OK, I said I’m new, but I had a U-bass that didn’t leave its case for a decade, and I’ve learned cello…somewhat…I didn’t leave the A tuning in place for more than few minutes (but that is perfectly fine as well). I have it tuned to standard E and it plays and sounds fine. I’m about to try the D’addario strings for Taylor mini bass, and have high hopes. I really dig this little bass because it’s well made, sounds good, and is very accessible because of its body size and scale length. Thanks, Artist!

Great travel bass

I ordered this before any had arrived in the country and have been really impressed with the quality, finish and the sound. It's really easy to play and as a travel bass doesn't disappoint. Great instrument.
