How quick was that? Ordered on Thursday arrived Tuesday, and I'm in Western Australia. HOWZAT! Took the bass out the box and it was ready to play. A wonderful instrument with attention to detail and perfect action. I love this bass. The extras are simply amazing for the package price. Don't buy anywhere else.

As I get older and my fat fingers get more arthritic, playing a full size bass is becoming a tiresome chore. I was looking for a more expensive "branded" short scale bass but happened across the Artist website. The price was less than half that offered by the other manufaturer so I ponied up the $170 and made the purchase. What a revelation! The bass sounds nice and growly and due to the close proximity of all the frets you can really crawl over this thing. The intonation seems fine for a short scale so I won't be changing the factory setup much. If you're in the market for a short scale bass then look no further. Seriously good fun!

Great little bass

I'd been eyeing this off for a while, given the good reviews already here. I'd considered some more expensive short scale bass options but hadn't been especially impressed with what I had tried for the money, and with the kids showing an interest and my plans for (post lockdown) busking, I thought I'd have little to lose with this bass at this price. Now, I'm not a pro player but I have gigged a fair bit and own a couple of other basses. This 3/4 size bass is exceptional value. It played really nicely out of the box. The intonation is perfect, which was one concern I had beforehand, and it has stayed in tune really well. I also thought the strings would swiftly need replacing, which for a bass is not a cheap exercise, but these stock strings were fine and it even came with a spare set. Not to mention a bag, tuner, cable, and other bits and pieces. All up it has been another good purchase from Artist Guitars and I appreciate the attention to detail that is given to their instruments before they are shipped out.

Wow! The tone coming out of it is just amazing: well-defined, deep and sustains pretty well, not just a dull thump. I've owned three 3/4 basses already from known brands and sold these, but I'm keeping this one, can't beat the price-performance ratio. The build is very nice, no sharp fret edges, hardware does not look cheap! Very good to have included the gigbag and tuner, these are not included in the other junior basses I looked at. Thanks Artist Guitars, so far not disappointed with your products!

Perfect bass guitar for my beginner son

We're really pleased with this bass guitar for my 9 year old. He loves it and his teacher says it's a good quality piece for starting off. The customer service from Artist Guitars was very helpful.

An ideal choice for my 13 year old son and his (still) small hands. But comfortable for me to play as well - so there are years of use to be had here. Usual rock solid Artist build quality (I'm a repeat customer) What else can I say?.....a perfect first instrument for a young player. We matched this to a Fender Rumble 15 practice amp.....Fat warm sound - Very happy customers......Only reason for 4 not 5 stars is that people need to know that ANY short scale bass may have oh so slight intonation issues on the very upper frets......that appears unavoidable....Which means that in most situations of regular play this will not be an issue......Trust the build quality. This is a great little instrument for an insanely low price.

I brought this bass for my granddaughter it was finished and set up beyond what I was expecting great workmanship thanks very much now to teach her how to play

What a surprise!!

Came super quickly. I was not expecting much for the price. Brought for my young son to get into bass after his much pestering. I have a fender p bass, so thought something similar but 3/4 size would suit him well. The tone and harmonics are insanely good, the neck is wide enough for bass but thin enough to handle comfortably, the action is perfect. Came with heaps of gear and spare strings. Beautifully built and painted. Not an imperfection on it. Would highly recommend, great value for the price! You will not be disappointed.

This bass knocked my socks off!

So, this bass is quite inexpensive, but with a few tweaks it has the thumpy short scale tones you want and need! When I received the bass, the d string was faulty. It buzzed no matter what the action was set to. I was considering putting a set of flatwound strings on it in the future, so the future was now. Once the strings were on (D’Addario Chromes) the Bass was transformed! Amazing thump, super low, buzz free action. If you want to dip your toe in the world of short scale (30in) basses, this is the one. DO IT!
