Can't really recommend it.

The seat top is really, really wobbly. However, the main problem for me is that for classical playing, it just doesn't go low enough, so my guitar slides down my leg while using an ergonomic support. If you use the foot rest, then it's wobbly and unstable due to the seat. It's ok when using my electric or strumming a steel string acoustic - if you can deal with the wobbly, hard as a plank seat. I know it's cheap but its not great, even for the price.

Perfect for my 8 year old

This is exactly what I wanted for my 8 year old. Simple stool at a great price. Should last her a few years until she wants something a bit sturdier.

KB009 Professional Guitarist Stool with Footrest

By: on 7 November 2019
Can't fault the service and delivery was prompt, however the stool itself while being sturdy could have had better bolting to overcome sloppy fittings,I had to re drill holes to take bigger bolts to make it more stable in saying that ,the price was right so I give it a three and a half

Neat

Best folder at this price, as good as any folder, seat locking pin could be larger but that's no criticism of strength

Flawed But still good

By: on 18 October 2019
I thought i would buy one just to see what everyone was complaining about. Surely such a basic thing would be ok. well it is and it is'nt. the flaws are. 1: legs are not welded square and as a result it is rocking on the base. 8mm gap on one leg to floor 2: the main seat support bolt is incorrect . It is a set screw which means it has thread all the way along it . It should be a bolt which has a shank that acts as the pivot support. , Also the hole clearance is massive and the seat wobbles badly on the pivot 3: the hinged section is dodgy it could collapse at a gig. the good things are it looks nice and seems strong the seat is fine, if anything firm it looks the goods for gig work. it seems stable once the leg is chocked. i will be drilling out the seat bolt and going up to m10 bolt and nyloc pressing the legs square pinning the hinged section for safety. then it will be good! While this sounds ridiculous to have to do, i havent seen anything better on the market and its pretty cheap. so if you want one, just budget in a couple of hours to sort it out. Dear manufacturer please read this ( from a qualified engineer) and make some improvements for your customers sake. Update. I added a nice feature which is a locking bolt , see picture. ive shown it in the collapsed position. When in use(extende3d position) the bolt goes through a hole in the back leg effectively doweling it and making it uber secure. I also upgraded to a seat bolt with 10mm shank, and nyloc, problem solved. i also straightened the back leg in the milll vice , see picture. all up about 1 hours work. its now useful safe and awesome. i cant add any more pictures you have to imagine some of it. Thanks

My 14yo son is very happy with his guitar stool- it makes his busking look more professional and the foot rest assists with his body position when playing.

Great stool, except for .....

By: on 6 June 2019
To be honest, there’s a design issue with this stool that prevents me giving it five stars. Sure, it’s solid and robust, the seat itself is well padded and comfortable, and the price is definitely more than competitive with the market. My issue lies with the stool’s facility to fold up neatly and quickly — this is important to me, because I have a LOT of gear to set up pre-gig, and pack up afterwards. Although the pix with the ad show that the stool seat folds down simply by loosening the bolt and then rotating the seat, that in fact is not the present-day design — instead, the bolts holding the seat need to be removed completely, the seat rotated, and the bolts done back up again (to avoid losing them!). Basically, the cut-out arc shown in the picture below the seat no longer exists — it’s just a single hole drilled in the metal. Setting back up again is a similar pain — unscrew the bolts, rotate the seat, re-insert the bolts, and tighten them back up. (And they need to be tightened VERY tightly, otherwise the seat rocks back and forth!). And I know you’re asking: So why don’t you just leave the seat permanently fixed in the “up” position? And yes, I could do that, but then the “folding” nature of this stool is effectively lost — I bought it to replace a perfectly good stool that has a fixed (non-rotating) seat position that makes it more awkward when I’m trying to fit it in an already-jampacked vehicle! In short, if the stool seat was as per the photo, I wouldn’t have a problem, but someone at the factory has “redesigned” it. ….. I hasten to add that AG readily acknowledged the problem and gave me a very prompt refund (typical Artist Guitars’ top-notch service!), but I’m afraid that doesn’t change my review of the stool as it exists at present. If AG can get the factory to revert to the design as pictured, I’ll be first in the queue to re-buy it.
