Artist Black58DLX Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar

This classic style guitar has existed in many forms since it was first released in 1958. Since then it has been coveted by some of the greatest Rock 'n Roll, Blues, and Jazz guitarists that the world has ever known. Legendary names like BB King, Freddie King, John McLaughlin, Larry Carlton, Jorma Kaukonen, Eric Clapton, and Elvin Bishop are among the multitude of players who have loved the diverse tones that this type of instrument offers. Now it's your turn!

This is a great sounding instrument and aesthetically beautiful at the same time. It features a Maple neck with an Ebony Fretboard. The 22 frets show off the 'Block' shaped inlays on the comfortable "C" shape neck, and the brass-saddle bridge and locking stop-bar tailpiece come together for a guitar that will not only feel great under your fingers but one that will sustain forever.

The BLACK58DLX sports our Signature Bullbucker individual Coil Splitting pickups which means that you have the option of the warm throaty tones of the neck pickup or the biting clean sounds of the bridge pickup. When you set your toggle switch in between neck and bridge pickup you get that wonderful almost out-of-phase sound, and the push/pull coil-splitting on both pickups is an extremely useful and versatile addition offering single-coil or humbucker configurations. You will be able to put a stamp on all those great blues solos and wail like the greats or you could darken the tone to suit the "cool" of any dingy little jazz club.

Great guitar, even better customer service.

By: on 21 August 2024
When I first received this guitar it came with a faulty bridge pickup. Only a week turnaround and they sent me out a new one. It was pain and stress free experience, thank you! As for the guitar, I've always been in love with Gibson es's, but I've never been able to justify the price of one. I found this guitar and it was in my price range, so I went for it and I'm glad I did. I don't know much about the technical side of guitars, when I choose a guitar I have to like how it looks, whether it's got some weight to it, whether it feels nice to play, and how it sounds. This guitar definitely ticks all those boxes. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the Les Paul style pickguard, but again, I messaged their customer service team, asked if I could get the base model's es style pickguard and they sent it out for me(for a fee, of course, which is fair enough, bit of a wait, as it ships from china, but at least I know it'll fit.) As far as I'm concerned, I've realised my dream of owning an ES style guitar and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend!

Pure Magic

By: on 11 March 2024
Great guitar. The quality is superb, and the finish is stunning. Pure magic. The one thing that lets it down is the set up. It wouldn't stay in tune. It's currently with my guitar tech who is sorting it out. He said some of the Artist guitars he's worked on have problems with the frets. This one is ok. The problem is with the nut which is not letting the strings move smoothly, causing them to not stay in tune. He is recutting it. It's disappointing because I love the guitar, great value for money, but to set it up adds significantly to the cost. I'd love to give it 5 stars, but how a guitar plays is all important, so because of the set up I'm giving it 4 stars.

Artist Black58DLX Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar & Br

By: on 21 June 2023
I'd been after a semi-hollow body guitar for a long time and was a bit sceptical that I could get a quality product for the price that Artist had on this instrument. I checked out a number of the independent reviews on YouTube and decided to take the plunge. The purchase was delivered to my door within days and I was quite excited to get my hands on the guitar. The guitar finish looks great and the weight is also pretty decent (about 3.75Kg). The Bullbucker pickups are exemplary and the coil splitting feature gives a broad range of options that I can control on stage during a gig - they are that good that I'm considering getting some to fit to another guitar that I already own. The volume pots needed to be cleaned to eliminate a significant level of hum that they were generating when not at full volume and the neck pickup was not positioned properly and I so that top of the pickup would not sit parallel to the strings and I needed to adjust the mounting to get it to align properly. Luckily I'm a tradie and have the tools and skills to do these little adjustments - otherwise it would have needed a return to Artist to address them. (The QC sticker on the back said that Hank had passed the guitar....) The only other thing I needed to do was to mask up the neck and give the fret wires a polish as they were quite rough direct from the assembly line and it made bending during lead work quite difficult - however a little bit of polishing the frets has cleared the problem and it plays beautifully now. The issues identified above all proved to be minor issues for me and I was able to sort them out quite quickly. Since I got on top of the minor issues above I have played the guitar every day for the last 3 weeks (can't put it down) and I'm very happy with it. Some QC issues that Artist may need to review there but overall I think I got a fabulous deal and a great instrument. Thanks Artist Guitars - I'll definitely be back for more. Rudi

Great feel & sound

By: on 18 January 2023
Absolutely loving my new purchase. The guitar feels great all over and looks knockout in the gloss black. Beautifully packaged up in the new case for safe travel. Action out of the box was almost perfect with just a little tweak needed. The buckers sound amazing and the push-pull is a huge bonus. Cannot believe the quality finish with the f-hole binding, overall paint paintwork and quality neck at this price point, let alone getting push-pull, locking tuners and ebony fretboard with block inlay. This thing is so versatile, playing soft clean parts into blues into all out hard rock. I have a number of 'expensive brand' guitars but i'm only picking this up when i go into my music room lately. So much fun, and at an unbelievable price.
