About Artist Guitars Factory Seconds

This is a factory second product which means it didn't pass our Quality Control test. It could be due to minor scratches, small marks, a slight discolouration of the wood, the paint could be a different colour or some other minor cosmetic issues. Each guitar will usually only have one of these issues. They play and function perfectly and sound the same as the guitars that passed quality control. Unfortunately, we can't show pictures of individual guitars.

We have a very strict Quality Control and if the guitars were damaged significantly or the sound of the guitar was changed they would not have become a factory second (we have 3 different grades for damaged products depending on how damaged an item is). This is a great buy and just like all of our products it also comes with 100-days free returns and a full 3-year warranty.

Most beginner guitars have nylon strings but unless you want to play classical or Spanish music, you may be disappointed. It has a Low String Action (all our guitars are set-up at the factory for optimum beginner playing level). String action is the measurement from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string. This is very important because a guitar with a high action is hard to play, a guitar with too low an action will buzz and sound bad. Artist Guitars are set up at the factory for the optimum level for a beginner.

A Truss Rod that allows you to correct for the effects of weather on the guitar help keep the neck straight and the action height the neck can be adjusted.

Impressive for the price

True to the description. I actually cannot see the quality issue, and have always wanted a black acoustic. I purchased so I didn't need to lug my full size mid range acoustic electric (now 16 years old) around to equestrian events/camping. I'd consider myself an intermediate player (more vocal orientated) with mid-higher range expectations, and was very impressed with the sound and playability out of the box. The sound and playability had far surpassed expectations, especially for the price (especially since I bought it as a convenient travel instrument that wasn't going to make me cry if something happened to it). It's actually inspired me to play more again, it's far more comfortable than a full size for my height (164cm), and is also much more pleasant for my dodgy right rotator cuff. I haven't tried the p/u yet but the tuner works well. Already very very happy for the money spent and have had good feedback from others that have played it. Makes it very tempting to buy an Artist small body/OM solid body in the future (especially already being impressed with the 6 string Gnosis and the 4/4 Violin).
