Artist OS60EQ O Sized Parlour Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Solid Top & EQ

Artist OS60EQ is an O-Size Solid-Top Parlour Guitar, based on more vintage instruments these guitars feature a solid cedar top and a crisp, bright tone. This is a smaller guitar, but the solid cedar retains a surprising amount of resonance and sustain. This guitar has a 2-way truss rod for easy adjustment, and smooth vintage-style covered machine heads. The Bone nut and saddle resonate exceptionally well, and the OS60EQ comes strung with D'Addario EXP16 strings.

We have fitted this instrument with the compact Fishman Presys II Preamp, which has a built-in tuner, phase switch, bass, treble, and volume controls. In keeping with NAMM's (National Association of Music Merchants) mission to make music more sustainable for our future generations, the OS60EQ features an Eco-Rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

Wow!!!

I've been looking for a parlour size guitar for a while now and this little thing is amazing! I am a professional muso and have always used acoustic guitars made by one of Australia's major manufacturers, but found the price of their "mini" too prohibitive at this point in time. I do a lot of busking and only ride a motorcycle, so needed something small to carry on my back, as a dreadnaught is a bit too big and acts as a wind sock. The quality of this instrument is outstanding and the fit and finish is beautiful. I'm extremely impressed with how well it plays straight out of the box and the volume is huge, so I'm looking forward to getting it out on the street. The fishman pickup sounds great when plugged into my PA and I'm very excited to give it a good run at tomorrow nights gig. Thank you Artist Guitars for such a high quality instrument at such an affordable price.

Parlor Guitar

What a great little instrument. Love every bit of it. Though set up and finishing was rough. But I just polished it with lemon oil and I prefer my own set up as every player has its own unique need. Pre amp is absolutely beautiful can easily compete with high end guitars. I played Taylors, yamaha, crafter, Cole and Clark but with this price point you are getting solid value for money. Keep up artist guitar now I have slowly replaced my 2 guitar with both artist brand and very happy with it.

Lovely little guitar with a monster voice!

It attracts people from much greater distances when busking acoustically. Clear as a bell!

Cant put the Thing down

I'm enjoying this guitar. It's intonated very well and responsive with a pick or fingers. It doesn't take much attack to get tone out of the little box, and the arpeggios aren't muddy and have delightful definition. So, its a fine playing guitar all up and down the neck. I did dress the frets level, and crowned them all nice, So I've got near enough an electrics action without buzz (which assists general playability/sound more so). Cedar top is bass responsive with tidy midrange. The bracing and laminated sides are structural. Overall this guitar can take a hard strumming and not "hit a wall", So it goes all the way from soft to loud forte easily. Again, it has a defined sound still through its range. Electrically sounding?, Its great. There's enough tweak in the preamp section to "roll in" a "acoustic" sound and get that PA'd into peoples ears. (you'll notice the forte too with this guitar electrically), So, it delivers much in a live band as well as a solo or smaller combo setting. Its a easy play instrument with a smaller scalelength and a quick responsive acoustic box. I think any player would enjoy the way it pockets the moments by ticking the boxes. Fine guitar at a more than reasonable cost for what it produces when played.

Parlour Guitar

By: on 31 March 2021
Bought the parlour guitar recently and it's everything as advertised and more. I went for the parlour model as I wanted a wider than average acoustic for fingerstyle but not as wide as a Classical nylon string guitar. This fits the bill exactly at 49mm nut width. The sound is very good, lots of resonance, the fitted bass strings can sound a little muddy when playing finger style without picks but when amplified they're fine. Overall great value definitely recommended.

Stunningly good sounding parlour guitar

By: on 4 November 2020
I dropped in to the Artist Guitars shopfront in St Peters in Sydney to pick up some accessories. I asked the salesman if I could play one of the guitars from up on the wall while he went out the back to collect my goods. I saw this gorgeous looking little parlour guitar so I thought I would give it a try. I sat down and tuned it up and found that once it actually stayed in tune while being played ... that’s the first sign of a good instrument ... and the sound was stunningly good. Warm, rich and with a clear and resonant mid-range. Not only did the instrument sound good, it felt fantastic under the fingers. What an incredible guitar. When the salesman came back I asked how much the instrument cost. I thought he said $1300 and something... and I thought to myself “ that’s a pretty good price for this incredibly good quality guitar” (solid cedar top, ash back and sides, Fishman pre-amp and pickup, all quality materials) and when I said I thought under two grand is pretty good he stopped me and said no no no it’s actually $369 !!! I nearly fell off the stool I was sitting on. I bought one from their online store the very next day, it arrived within 2 days and it sits comfortably with my Maton, my Takamine and my luthier-made LKS Cittern and Shinano (luthier-made) classical guitar. Brilliant!

Thanks artistguitars!!

Everything I wanted... but BIGGER (sound)

By: on 11 September 2019
I'm a big fan of smaller body guitars - I have used a 000 size for gigging for the past 6 years. I've been wanting a smaller one, but not as tiny as the Baby Martin or Mini Maton. And everyone knows how pricey genuine vintage parlour guitars can be! I visited Artist's showroom to check out their 000 equivalent but I fell in love with the 0-sized parlour instead. The acoustic sound is what you'd expect from a small unit, but the Fishman pickup paired with this guitar makes it sound 5 times bigger. I love the tone and resonance of the Cedar top and the ash body is stunning and elaborate. The size and sound, combined with the stunning vintage looks, this has quickly become the gig-guitar of choice. (Note, that like most parlours, the neck is wider than modern style guitars, so I definitely recommend playing it first to discover for yourself if it's the right choice for you.) Regarding cases - It is difficult finding a hard case for this (as is common with parlours due to their varying bodyshapes) but I did find a gig bag (Extreme) that fits it perfectly. For the price, it's absolutely exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Artist :)

Amazing Parlour

Thanks for this great Parlour Guitar, Artist. What an amazing product. Beautiful sound, great action, in tune everywhere. I was amazed when I first plugged in. The pick-up is top notch. So good I am buying several for my school as well. Well done

Another excellent AG guitar

By: on 16 April 2019
I'd echo the comments of previous reviewers — this is a beautiful instrument. Well set up (low action, good intonation), classy build, and an overall finish that has become the hallmark of Artist-branded guitars. (Among my far-too-many acoustics, I also own an Artist OMS8FEQ Acoustic-Electric and an Artist HG39303CEQ Classical, and this Parlour unit continues that "quality" tradition; I'm consistently surprised about AG's ability to source instruments of this calibre at a reasonable price.) The Parlour, of course, doesn't have the bottom end of a standard guitar, but that's the whole point — besides, if you're amplifying or DI'ing, you can EQ to tweak that somewhat.) And I love the small size, which is so manageable, particularly when you're quickly swapping between multiple instruments on stage. I also like that this one comes with both strap pins already fitted (many guitars have only one); while I've swapped these out for straplock pins, it's nice to not have to drill holes in your new pride and joy! ..... The machine heads are good quality, too — very solid and responsive. The Fishman EQ (powered by a standard 9V battery) is basic but perfectly usable, and the guitar sounds , well, nice, through my Fishman Loudbox. Would I have this as my one and only guitar? Probably not, because you need that bottom end at times, but it's certainly a welcome addition to my arsenal, and one I'll definitely be using live on occasions. This Parlour OS60EQ is worth every cent, and more.
