Artist LP60PRO Cherry Burst Electric Guitar w/ Bullbucker Pickups

For everyone from beginners to professionals, classic rock aficionados to heavy metal chuggers, the Artist LP60PRO is the perfect budget guitar! Featuring an Okumen body with a AAA flame maple veneer finished in a vintage cherry burst, this set neck beast brings our popular Artist AP1 to the next level, courtesy of the addition of two Artist Bullbucker pickups! The neck pickup is a medium output, vintage voiced pickup that delivers a smooth mid-range with less treble "bark" - roll off the tone slightly for punchy rhythm tones and thick, creamy leads. The bridge pickup has a fairly high output and is very versatile. Great for everything from blues to heavy metal, it provides slammin' output with singing highs and aggressive harmonics, and can retain clear crisp cleans while being able to get real dirty, real quick.

The LP60PRO features an eco-rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius - the perfect midpoint for easy rhythm playing and hassle-free bending! With a 42mm bone nut, chrome tune-o-matic bridge and high-quality chrome tuners, the LP60PRO's tuning remains incredibly stable! If you're looking to upgrade your electric guitar game without breaking the bank, the LP60PRO is right for you!

Isn't she lovely, Isn't she wonderful to perv on.

If you take the neck pickup out to marvel at the construction, you like me, will see a long neck tenon. Yes a long neck tenon, the finish is flawless, and the fret work is superb. The timber of the body and neck is beautiful the grain is awesome on mine. I have had this guitar for about two weeks now and i spend as much time perving on it as i do playing it. she plays great straight out of the box and those bullbucker pickups are spot on, The AAA flame maple veneer is awesome. Did i mention it has a long neck tenon.

Amazing Les Paul for the price

By: on 1 July 2024
I recently received this LP60PRO from Artist Guitars. As usual the quality of this guitar was outstanding. As always I ran over the setup of the instrument prior to playing it and noted the strings were slightly corroded. The action was way to high for my liking and upon playing it found the Bullbucker Pickups were extremely hot even after winding them and their adjustable poles all the way down they were far too hot for my liking breaking up tubesat even low volumes on each my three VOX tube amps. If you are a heavy rock or even metal player these pups will suit you down to the ground. Unfortunately I like lower output pickups that clean up to flute like almost bell like tones or can be overdriven by turning the volume up. I have since purchased and installed a pair of Tonerider Alnico blues PAF lower output Humbucker pickups. They sound wonderful, exactly what I am looking for. I have also installed a new set of balanced tension strings with at least 2 winds around each post which has helped tuning stability. I filed the nut slightly has it was a tad high on the low E and A strings. It took me a while to stretch the new strings and adjust the relief which is now perfect. The tailpiece was too low, I adjusted it up a tad, I also adjusted the bridge down to give me slightly less than 1.5mm string action (height) checked at the 12th fret. Intonation was only slightly out so I sorted that out easily. I have since been playing it. It sounds and plays outstanding. It has very low action with no buzz at all. This Les Paul is just the right weight and is extremely well balanced. I cannot recommend it enough. Many players will be happy with it how it plays straight out of the box. I am very fussy and like everything to be adjusted and working spot on. It’s my OCD. Whilst I aren’t a fan of conventional locking tuners, I have ordered a set of Wilkinson EZ Lock tuning machines. Not really necessary but it’s what I like to have installed on my guitars, they offer amazing tuning stability. So most people who buy this guitar will be happy with it straight out of the box and love it. I have personalised mine with new strings, a pair of Tonerider Alnico 2 PAF Humbuckers and Wilkinson Tuners which all up cost me $230 extra. Where can I buy a Les Paul that is tailor made to suit my needs for $579 total. This LP60PRO is capable of eating Epiphone and Gibson Standard Les Paul’s for breakfast it sounds and plays incredibly . I recommend the LP60PRO to anyone wanting a stunning looking and fantastic sounding guitar.

Pretty amazed

I had my eye on one of the 58 ES-335 style guitars. For an extra $350 I couldn't help but throw this LP60 into the shopping cart, thinking how bad could it be - and with the confidence of the return policy if I didn't like it. Holy moly. The craftsmanship is fantastic - after a thorough once over the only thing I could notice was the tiniest cosmetic gap in the finish at the neck joint (and I do mean tiny and cosmetic). My other guitars are Strats/Teles; my only other dual humbucker guitar was a 90s-era Epiphone Explorer that I recent sold. The bullbucker pickup on this guitar are night and day compared to those - bright, hot, clear - and the sustain on the guitar is incredible. It just sings. The neck is thick and clubby, which I personally love. Fret-ends are smoother/better than my Vintera telecaster out of the box. Action and intonation were both very good (close to perfect) out of the box. Just had to stretch strings, tune and play. I watched a heap of reviews on Artist guitars before purchase and thought they couldn't all be correct - well consider me a convert. Incredible bang for buck and a super fun playing experience. Ironically I am going to send the ES-335 back because I accidentally ordered the one with tremolo when I wanted fixed bridge. But this "throw-in" Les Paul is even more fun to play. Kudos, Artist - I am sure I will be back for more.

A great guitar, amazing value - after some tweaks.

Well, here I am again - buying Artist guitars has been a bit hit and miss for me, I bought quite a few EB2 strats back in the day and used them as a modding platform, pretty good but always had issues that would really hurt a beginning guitar player. As we all know, guitar set up is everything, guitars that come with the goods but are let down by a lack of care at that point before shipping are almost worthless to someone that is starting their guitar journey. So - after hearing that Artist had a new maker for these guitars I bought a TV Yellow JR and a LP60. Both were a completely terrible mess. Corrosion on the frets making them super scratchy, truss rods that were free floating and hadn't been tweaked, action set up poorly because of this... Anyway, the bones are extremely good for this price range and after a fairly standard set up (starting with the neck and truss rod and working back towards the bridge) I absolutely love these two new set neck guitars. So, unless Artist do something to address this horrendous playability QC, I don't think I would ever recommend a beginner or intermediate guitarist buy one of these without first understanding guitar setup and having a few tools like a notched straightedge and a dremel with a buffing wheel/fret erasers etc. Final word: LP60 is a Great guitar, hidden by poor attention to detail.

Another awesome Artist Guitar to my collection

So glad I bought this beautiful guitar and yet again the quality is second to none, it's amazing. The specs are a bit different from my first Artist guitar (AP59) which makes it just that little bit unique, I couldnt be happier my second Artist guitar and based on that I am now due to receive my 3rd one (but by no means last) tomorrow and I cant wait to hear it. Thank you Artist Guitars, you have changed the game for me and now I can afford to explore all the different tones in my head with multiple pure quality weapons at my disposal that havent cost me a mountain of money

Difficult to fault

By: on 2 September 2023
After a 30-year hiatus from playing, I got an itch that needed scratching. Not wanting to spend a huge amount on something I wasn't sure was going to last 10 minutes or 10 years, and that's where Artist guitars caught my attention. The reviews were consistently good and the price was right, so back in June I headed into the showroom to try a couple for myself. I ended up walking out with a customer-returned LP60PRO for a tidy discount and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with my decision. First thing I did was fit a new set of strings and give it a proper setup, where I was able to address the fret buzz with a little neck relief adjustment, the intonation and action were already pretty good beforehand but gave both a little tickle once I was done & ended up with a guitar that looks, plays and sounds great, exceeding all expectations for what I thought was possible at this price point. So thanks to a little research and patience, along with YouTube and of course Artist guitars, I own a guitar I'm super happy with. In fact, I'm so happy with it, I've just ordered my 2nd Artist guitar - expectations are high, but I'm confident they'll be met!

well worth the wait,(weight).

I find most Les Pauls too heavy. I've been waiting for the lighter AP97 chambered Les Paul to be back in stock. The date's been put back to some time in September. I checked the specs of the other LP's in the Artist range and found the LP60 Pro is up to a kilo lighter than the other models. I ordered mine late on a Weds afternoon and it was delivered ay 9.00am on Friday, brilliant. Stunning Flame Maple top is flawless, looks to be one piece . The Bullbuckers deliver signature Les Paul tones with plenty of grunt for overdrive sounds. The low, light action suits me straight out of the box. This is my tenth Artist guitar, they're all spot on and amazing value for money. In fact, I have the whole lot for about the same price as one USA big brand name guitar.

Great Guitar

By: on 16 May 2023
Got one of these for my 13yo daughter's first electric guitar, based on other reviews and Bob Spencer's video review. I wouldn't know a good guitar from a dud (apart from this is a gorgeous looking and seemingly well made instrument), so took it in to her guitar teacher to see if he needed to set anything up properly for her. Apart from raising the top string slightly to stop frets ringing, there was nothing. He said it felt good, played great and that he wanted one. The service was execptional, with Artist following the delivery tracking and letting me know it was running late. Not their fault. It sat at an Australia Post sorting centre 5 minutes down the road for 3 days! I can't fault the experience of buying through Artist and will certainly shop here again if and when we need something else.

Another Great Guitar

By: on 28 March 2023
Artist just keeps getting it right, This guitar plays and feels just so right, after putting it on the bench to check and adjust to my preferences, WOW! The neck is perfect, the workmanship second to none and the finish is to die for. I have the "real" thing in several LP's, but this thing has more grunt, resonance and plays better. The "Bullbuckers" are outstanding in in this guitar, all the switches and pots work really well. This guitar leaves some of my "real" ones for dead. having 29 guitars of all sorts, 5 of them are Artist brand and each one is brilliant. What great value for money this guitar is, if you want a great LP this thing is for you.

Firstly the apology email for "Late Delivery" was welcomed, but unneccessary. We Melbournites love our Public Holidays :) Owned a 77 LP Custom for years, which I sold for financial reasons (Cried a lot!) Opened the carton - Packaging WOW. Condition perfect - WOW again. Tuned her up , let it acclimatize, quick tune again. Strings 1 gauge up from my usual, was changing anyway. Intonation - spot on!! Plugged it into my rig - Want to take the rest of the week off work just to play... $289 ??? Who's factory did you rob?! :) Not my first guitar from Artist & certainly won't be my last! Brilliant job guys & gals. KRgds Chris

Great guitar

I bought this guitar for my 15 year old son as he wanted a Les Paul type guitar (he is quite an accomplished guitarist, not a novice). This guitar sounds bloody fantastic and rivals other more expensive Les Paul models. Brilliant service as always from Artist guitars. This guitar is highly recommended.

Like everybody else - what a great buy

By: on 15 February 2022
I didn't intend buying a LP60 proCSB Pro line but what I was after was out of stock till April and i'm not very patient , the guitar turned up very quickly (by Couriers Please no problems). Good condition overall minor scratch/dent on face near neck but hardly noticeable, Not tuned so no tension on the neck and action was fairly high. (I know this is personal choice). Definitely not detrimental to the guitar. Another happy customer that will buy again...Thank you.

Impulse buy

By: on 4 February 2022
Always wanted a cherry sunburst les Paul style guitar , but didn’t need to break the bank as I have done with higher priced originals, ordered the guitar on the 27th Jan , arrived today 4th feb , great postage speed from Sydney, the packaging was excellent I brought with hard shell case the guitar was in a bubble wrap bag with a fretboard wax paper protector , came with a couple of picks , and cheap style lead . I’ve got to say this guitar absolutely pops in colour ( beautiful) the eco fretboard is stunning to the eye ( nice and dark ) the cherry red back and neck are superb colour . There’s not allot of flame coming out on the top but it looks good , it has headstock scarf which is just visible and apparently stronger than the traditional manufacturing method, the machine heads are of descent quality and hold tune ok the pickups are as good as other higher priced models I have , the guitar came set up alright but I did readjust string and pickup height for how I like it . The body shape is one of the best I’ve seen as to dearer models usually the cutaway is wrong curve/bend , it’s not a whinge but the arch top is flatter at the neck pickup making bracket lean toward the bridge pickup it doesn’t affect the sound it’s just visual (the bridge pickup sits well as it has proper body arching there) I removed the scratch plate only to find a small scratch where the the scratch plate adjuster bracket was set to low , quite common on these style guitars and not a hard fix . The overall weight is good body thickness 50 mm , I’m extremely happy with the purchase, and it won’t be going back , the case is also of good quality , A great guitar for the price and would thoroughly recommended to anyone looking to get some bang for buck , well done Artist guitars you’ve got my vote

Just getting back to playing

By: on 17 February 2021
When I was 13/14 I bought a rubbish guitar, liked it so bought an entry level of a good make. But I was young and lost interest. Then Christmas just gone 2020, my wife bought me a guitar online, it was meant as a joke, I mean it was $100 for everything including tiny amp. But it whet my appetite and I bought a decent Ibanez, not top range obviously, but still a nice unit. I then wanted something a bit more subtle, like a Les Paul haha, no way I could afford that. Looked at the Epiphone ones, another copy as well, I wasn’t too impressed. Then after searching saw some videos of the LP60 Pro-Line, it sounded fantastic, and at $279 I took a punt. Wow turned up to Brisbane in 3 business days. Looks beautiful, and very well built. While tuning it I got a bit worried, the machine head for G string seemed loose. However after playing it for around 6 hours non of the strings have gone out of tune. This guitar is absolutely amazing, especially for the price. I’m already eyeing up the SG/AG model, it’s just how to get it without my wife noticing!!!

LP60PROCSB Pro-Line Cherry Sunburst Electric Guita

By: on 4 February 2021
This guitar is awesome! I own 11 Artist guitars and bought this one because it has the Bullbucker pickups and a killer finish, and I was told was heavier than the regular LP60's with a thicker neck, and I wasn't disappointed. The guitar has a good weight to it and I like the baseball bat type necks :). The sustain and tone are superb and the guitar was set up perfectly right out of the box. Artist Guitars seem to just get better and better and they really knocked it out of the park with this beauty. I highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for an LP style guitar that is a delight to play. In my opinion this guitar is THE BEST bang for your bucks you can get!! Thanks Artist Guitars.

Absolutely fantastic guitar.

I cannot believe the quality of this guitar at this price range. The guitar is beautifully finished with a high gloss, deep cherry sunburst, and an incredible flame veneer. There are no gaps or anything of concern in the build and the tuners really surprised me with their smooth reliable adjustment. Pickups are possibly some of the best that I've heard on a sub $1000 guitar. Overall I have no hesitation in recommending this Guitar.
