Artist AT54 Vintage Blonde Electric Guitar w/ Bullbucker Pickups

If you loved the Artist TC59, but you're after something with a little more vintage flair (and a little less weight), it's hard to go past this absolute belter of a guitar! With an ultra-lightweight poplar body finished in stunning vintage blonde, the Artist AT54 brings that increasingly sought-after 70s aesthetic to the Artist range, while maintaining the modern appointments that make these instruments even more playable!

Featuring a modern, six-saddle bridge on a string-through, poplar body, the AT54 can be intonated and adjusted exactly and easily according to your preferences. The Canadian roasted maple C-shape neck is slightly slimmer than your typical 70s "U-Shape", though there's still enough neck to grab hold of and let rip! With a 12" radius maple fingerboard and 22 Vintage Jumbo frets, the AT54 can be set up for ultra-low action without sacrificing note clarity or bends. A slightly slimmer, 42mm bone nut and high-grade locking tuners ensure every point of string contact is optimised for tuning stability and that sweet, sweet sustain...

As far as electronics go, there are no surprises here! Like our TC59 and AT92 models, the AT54 comes equipped with our signature Artist Bullbuckers! These are high-output humbucking pickups, with exceptional chordal clarity. The neck pickup is slightly more vintage-voiced, outputting 7.1k for those creamy leads and balanced rhythm tones, while the bridge pickup, putting out 15.4k, is capable of genuine chunk, with rich harmonic overtones, and clear, searing lead tones with clarity across the entire frequency range.

If that wasn't enough, each pickup can be coil-split using the push-pull pots for that typical single coil twang! High-grade, 250k pots play wonderfully with these coil-split options, while rolling off a touch of high-end in humbucking mode, which helps to tame the dreaded "icepick" sounds of hotter pickups, particularly in the bridge position.

If you're looking for a guitar that can cover any tone from twang to Tool, grab an AT54, throw it in your gig bag and get in the van!

Another Great Artist Guitar

By: on 16 May 2025
I received my AT 54 today and am impressed with the build and price. Not sure how you do it guys. I had a TC 59 that I really liked but the weight was 4.5kg and not for me as a gigging guitar so I sold it. The AT 54 colour was not quite what I expected but I like it. Out of the box, I only had to tune up and tighten locking tuners. Intonation was perfect, neck did not require any adjustment and frets were perfect and smooth as along neck. It sounds great like the TC 59 did. I think I might also use this guitar at next weeks gig. Great work and only 2 day delivery Artist Guitars. Cheers.

This is the new standard

This isn’t my first Artist guitar, nor is it my first T-style guitar. I’ve tried the TC59, I’ve tried the AT93v2, and both nearly broke my back trying to lift them….. so when I saw a new t-style from Artist that adopted a Poplar body, I was pretty quick to buy one due to the weight savings over Ash. I know poplar bodies are unattractive to “tone wood” snobs, but for guitars that have a painted finish it’s fine, and the substantial weight saving over the Ash-bodied t-style Artist guitars is significant. The finish is excellent, fret work excellent, action super low, finish on the neck is super smooth, and the bullbuckers still sound brilliant, although for my preference I will be changing to 500k pots. Locking tuners are pretty good. I guess if I have any feedback for a version 2 of this, it would be: *different finishes, like black, surf green and red *adopt the neck heel carves from the paisley models *tummy cut like the AT models. But that’s only preference and I think this guitar is pretty awesome as it is.

I wasn't decided. I went thoroughly throught the website and finally decided on the AT54 Vintage Blonde. I like to relic some of my guitars for fun, I don't touch the fretboard, frets or chrome etc... but after receiving the guy after just ordering yesterday, I'm not sure? Great guitar, great build, feels good and pots and switch feels very solid (not cheap)!!! This is my 2nd guitar for Artist. My gold top with the P90s sounds unreal. This guitar is part of a quiver, I only play at home so all have have to do is impress myself, and I'm very picky! Great guitar, unbelievable for the price. Very good service with a 24hr delivery.... stoked!
