Great guitar for the price

First guitar I've bought from here, was initially a bit skeptical of all the good reviews, but they're to be believed. Guitar arrived in 2 working days undamaged with adequate packaging, no scratches or scuffs anywhere on the body. After tuning and stretching strings the guitar plays very well with no additional setup, action was set well, the only thing I had to do was a very slight adjustment on the bridge to help with intonation. I don't know if I was lucky with this one but the sustain is surprisingly good. Pros: • All the tuning pegs have an even tension. • Strings sit well at the nut. • Frets are consistent with no sharp edges. • Neck is straight with no warping, has a modern profile that's easy to play. • Pickups are fine, volume and tone controls work as expected. • No issues with the input jack. • Bridge appears to be set correctly, no issues with adjusting for intonation. Cons: • Pickup selector is loose, but works fine. For the guitar alone I'd give it a 4/5 with how it plays and sounds for the price, but overall I'm giving this review a 5/5 for the ordering experience and the quality control being at a high standard. If you're looking for a beginner instrument or wanting to try a different style of guitar before committing to something more expensive I would recommend picking one of these up.

Artist SG style great value.

I have had one for these for four years now and probably my most used guitar. It has had Seymour Duncan's Favorite Hot Rodded Pick ups in it.. It is very good for blues rock. Even jazz, with the pick ups in the tapped position. It stays in tune, the neck has not needed any straightening, etc.. With the added Duncan pups, it is very good. Lacks the 'G' word on headstock. lol.

Very average guitar

For the price you shouldn't expect too much although $189 is not chump change by any means. This guitar is very average. You could drive a truck under the high action that it has and the finishing work on this guitar is sub par. It has a muddy tone and is very awkward to play. I wouldn't personally recommend this guitar for a beginner as you are going to get bored very quickly and not really want to pick the thing up. I'll probably bash around on it a bit but will look at palming it off to someone else later just to get rid of it. Around the nut on my guitar the finishing job was awful and messy and all the strings buzz.

I have had this guitar for a week now and I am very impressed. It looks amazing (mine is cherry red), and sounds very nice for such an inexpensive product. Thank you Artist Guitars. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
