Artist AP6G Cimmerian II Gloss White Electric Guitar w/ Active Pickups

The Artist AP6G Cimmerian II is the next generation of the all-conquering Artist AP6G Cimmerian. Improving on one of our all-time classic designs, this new iteration takes everything you loved about its predecessor and kicks it up another notch! We've introduced two classic finishes on this model - gloss white with matte black hardware, and the ever-dependable matte black Cimmerian finish, this time with gold pickup covers. With a Mahogany neck and body and classic block inlays, the AP6G Cimmerian II is mostly the guitar you know and love... just improved!

Loaded with a set of Artist HMA active pickups, the AP6G is built for crushing gain with unmatched articulation, delivering full-bodied chugs, squealing leads, and pinch harmonics for days, all while remaining whisper quiet, even under the most ridiculous distortion settings. Our most brutal pickups to date, these feature a tight mid-range response, with articulate lows and crisp, cutting highs. Along with increased compression (when compared with passive humbuckers) and lower noise, our HMA pickups retain punch and definition no matter how much overdrive you dial in, making them the ideal choice for heavier genres.

A solid, bound Mahogany body, finished in either dark matte black or classic white gloss, ensures this one is right at home for players with wardrobes exclusively comprised of black shirts emblazoned with unintelligible deathcore band logos. Aesthetic choices notwithstanding, the AP6G is constructed to not only withstand, but shine under the rigours of aggressive playing. Featuring a set Mahogany neck, topped with a 24-fret eco-rosewood fretboard, two octaves of shred runway give unlimited options for even the most technical of players.

High-grade locking tuners, a gold tuneomatic bridge, and a bone nut ensure unparalleled tuning stability gig after gig, night after night. We've also equipped this one with a redesigned headstock, which ensures optimised string break angle and a straight path from saddle to tuning machine, keeping your tuning stable and minimising string breakage.

Professional Evaluation & Full Comparative Report

By: on 31 March 2026
I haven’t received this guitar yet; however, it is the perfect guitar for my musical goals/purposes. I spent several arduous days looking at specific Artist guitar options, all in the higher price bracket. My brief was very specific but simple; a guitar built and designed for heavy metal/hard rock rhythm playing a la Rammstein. After several days it dawned on me that the task was hopeless and that's when I suddenly had the idea to do a comparative review of each guitar on ChatGPT. This was the only option considering the daunting technical specifications of each guitar build. The research was based on the brief I demanded; this was not an emotional purchase by any means but purely based on technical specifications for the task. The comparison study was based on five Artist guitars: the SS91, Limba Natural, AS88, SS87, and the AP6G. The final verdict clearly indicated that the AP6G Cimmerian II was the overall winner; the results were astounding, as follows: Best structural build of all guitars reviewed; Hardware-Highly Professional; Second-best hardware system overall (after Limba), but best for heavy rhythm; Electronics Category-Leading for Metal with the best pickups for metal among all guitars reviewed; winner on build quality, hardware (for metal rhythm use), and tone (metal); professional suitability scored 92/100; Positive Strengths: 1. Best Metal-Focused Guitar in the Entire Group, 2. Set-Neck Construction, 3. Hardtail Tune-o-Matic System, and 4. High-End Feature Integration; Comparison based on high end professional guitars was astoundingly close to what the market sells: the comparison indicates that the AP6G is 85–90% compatible with the e$p l7d 1000, Ib@N*! and Fe*d(# for professional performance, both in the studio and live; for the brief of metal playing style of 80% rhythm and 20% lead, the AP6G scored 94% suitability. Finally, the AP6G scored #1 due to playing/performance priorities: Heavy rhythm, Tight chug, Stability, and Occasional lead. The AP6G delivers: Hardtail stability, Active pickup punch, Strong sustain, and Adequate lead access. The bottom line is the AP6G Cimmerian II is the Artist guitar closest to a true professional metal instrument and far more aligned with aggressive metal/hard rock rhythm playing style, therefore the best overall choice and the most effective guitar/instrument for my specific musical objective. Enough statistics, data and science, just go out and get one. If your playing style is anywhere near metal/hard rock/punk/hardcore, then you need the AP6G Cimmerian II.

Very Happy

Man , what a great buy ... I couldn't be more happier with this new Guitar from Artist , my third in the stable from this wonderful Australian company. Firstly , this was my first delivered one ... 500kms up the coast, previously I had picked up from Yennora , when I lived closer to Sydney always buying with a case... so 2 boxes , I was a little confused when the delivery guy said , no only one mate... so guitar was in case, all good.... only had to tightened locking tuners , retune and start playing ... unplugged I could tell from the sustain ringing out , that this one was a Wednesday build, solid as , plugged in , awesome ! , through a small Marshall it is so sweet without any effects . Can't wait till I can put it through my 1986 100watt 2203 Half Stack ...A great Heavy Rock Metal Machine.... with all the great hardware that are on the specs .When I saw the White Gloss Les Paul style WITH active pickups I had to have it... I feel like I now have my own "GRAIL" at my fingertips.... Absolutely loving it.... put in down look at it and then pick it back up , a joy. If you are umming and arrrrring about getting one , just do it ...The white and Black colour contrast is really tasteful ... Once again Artist kicks ass .. Thank you for the free delivery !!! It was here in like 2 days after the order day , how good is that!
