Artist LP59 Cherry Burst Electric Guitar w/ Bullbucker Pickups

The Artist LP59CSB is our top-of-the-line guitar. whether it be for gigging or recording, this is one of the best guitars on the market in relation to quality and price. This guitar has a great rock/ blues sound that easily produces that big fat fluid sound so typical of this style of instrument.

The African Mahogany body is finished off with a single-ply cream binding over carved poplar cap, with a 5A Tiger Maple venner providing the awesome flamed finish. The set neck is made of mahogany and features an eco-rosewood fretboard. The 22-fret neck is a comfortable "C" shape with trapezoid Mother of Pearl inlaid into the eco-rosewood fretboard. With the typical 24.75" scale length you are sure to bend notes as well as any blues or rock player going around.

The guitar is finished with an impressive Cherry Sunburst while the back is a clear polyurethane finish. The deluxe hardware consists of chrome locking tuners, Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Roller saddles, and a locking Stop Bar Tailpiece.

We install our signature coil-splitting Artist Bullbucker pickups, which have a creamy smooth sound on the neck pickup while the bridge pickup breaks up nicely with no harsh upper mids. They are both vintage-moderate output pickups. An added feature is that both pickups offer coil splitting which guarantees that this guitar will deliver a wide range of tonal options.

We also use the best electronic parts to reproduce the classic wiring configuration. 2 Volume and 2 Tone Control, standard 3-way toggle switch, Split Shaft 500K pots, 0.022uf ceramic capacitors and 1/4" Input Jack.

The factory strings are standard  D'Addario EXL110 strings.

LP59 Cherry Burst

By: on 24 February 2024
Purchased this LP59 CSB to replace an Epiphone Gold Top I owned several years ago hopeful that it would match the GT in playability. Now having the LP59 for a couple of weeks I believe it has blown the GT out of my memory. The Artist LP59 CSB has unbelievable tuning stability for an inexpensive guitar and the tone that comes from the Bullbucker pick ups is pleasing to my ears. Each day I play this guitar, before I know it,my 30 minute practice session has turned into 2 hours.Thank you Artist Guitars, you make a fantastic range of guitars. A great rock workhorse

By: on 4 January 2024
I had been eyeing off this guitar for some time, and having seen several positive reviews, I decided to pull the pin and buy one. Much to my surprise, the guitar was on sale, and I saved over $100.00. Happy days! So what did I get for my $300? A gorgeous cherry burst LP copy. This thing looks, feels and plays like the real thing. Nice and hefty, with a a beautifully comfortable neck. The pick ups are surprisingly good. I can get beautiful clean tones on both pick ups, with or without splitting the coils. But the overdriven tones are where this guitar does its best work. It absolutely roars, like a mahogany guitar with good humbuckers will. This guitar was delivered within 4 days of ordering, which was just before Christmas, so well done guys. I could not be happier with the product, the service or the price. As Molly might say, do yourself a favour and buy one. Cheers guys.

Amazing guitar at an insane price

By: on 22 December 2023
After having bought the walnut 58 and the Tweedtone amp from artist, I pulled the pin on one of these 59 Les Paul’s. This guitar is incredible value. She’s heavy, but Les Paul’s are meant to be. The timber and build quality looks and feels superb. The neck is on the chunkier side being a 59 replica but it’s very comfortable to play. The bullbucker humbuckers are incredible. They produce a very vintage tone with a lot of clarity for a Les Paul. The playability, look and sound of this guitar are amazing. I actually prefer the feel over my big G Les Paul, which is astonishing at this price point. The tuning stability with these locking tuners is also fantastic. Can’t believe a guitar at this price even has these. For full disclosure, the push pull pot on mine is a bit iffy, and sometimes plays up a bit. Full credit to artist, they were willing to take it back and replace it but the sound and feel of this one is so good that I don’t want to swap it. I’ll just replace the pots if it ever gets too bad, and you get that sometimes with electric guitars. All around a very solid guitar that looks and sounds way above its price point.

It's All True...

By: on 17 December 2023
All the positives are true...I can't add much except to concur that time should be spent adjusting the pickups ( same as for all production guitars) for volume balance between each and also the individual strings...I found lowering both pickups significantly...especially the 'hot' bridge pickup opened up tone and clarity beautifully...these are GREAT pickups...I would say that this guitar properly setup will hold it's own against just about any other brand and even the genuine models...a BIG win for us here in OZ for a change...Hat's off to Ian and the crew...amazing!

Artist LP59 Cherry Burst Electric Guitar

By: on 11 December 2023
Just received my guitar after ordering it on line. It came within 12 days with absolutely no hassels! I did call Artist direct and asked a few questions about the guitar before I purchased it, because it almost seemed to good to be true. But now that its here, wow, it really blew me away! Amazing specs for a guitar at this price point, it plays excellent straight out of the box. I looked at a long list of Youtube videos where it was tested and compared up against other guitars in particular an Epiphone and it came up trumps! You really can't go wrong, its a great guitar!

2nd Purchase from Artist and I'm blown away

By: on 8 August 2023
I was disappointed a little on my first purchase but they got a come back to my heart for this one. I purchased this guitar expecting a "LP" feeling and this guitar delivered I have played and held an actual '59 model it's a similar experience except the guitar I got is lighter which is good in my opinion. The neck feels really nice C Shape (I'm used to bigger necks due to more strings) the headstock isn't on that bad angle which is really good, tuning holds well surprisingly and take note this guitar saddles has rollers on it, got some push pull knobs really noticeable sound difference from single to humbucker., pickups are decent PAF sounding just make sure to set it up the way you like your dynamics and tone to be. So far no complaints really happy even though I bought a 2nd Factory bargain. Was just wishing the contours of the body was more obvious maybe because of my house lightning it looks flat. Binding's needs improvement how smooth it's cut its a tad sharp (not sure with others because this is a 2nd Factory bargain)

Les Paul Killer!

By: on 31 March 2023
Recently purchased the LP59 Cherry burst and I'm very impressed. I now own 4 Artist guitars and they punch above their weight for value and price. For the record I don't own an original Gibson Les Paul, but I don't think I need one after buying then Artist LP59. Everything from the locking tuning pegs to the electronics is spot on. I wanted a Les Paul tone and this didn't disappoint. I'm running this through a brown amp setting and it's awesome. Well done Artist Guitars!

Does this guitar need another 5 star review?

By: on 23 March 2023
Yes, it does. I actually bought one of these beautiful babies second hand on a website starting with E. I love this guitar and can't believe the quality of all of the elements for the price. It's in nearly mint condition so assuming it's only a year or two old. I've never played a Gibson LP and my other LP is an old Korean made Epi LP-100 which is is not in the class of this. Great guitar but certainly not as fancy as the LP59. I love the feel of the neck, there's something comforting about how heavy she is and she truly is beautiful to look at. She sounds great playing clean and with large layers of crunch. I've not had a guitar with coil-splitting or locking tuners before and these features at this pricepoint is really remarkable. I have a serious case of GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) but don't buy them for the name on the headstock (don't have a budget for that anyway) - I buy guitars that I want to play and keep playing and the Cherry Burst LP59 ticks all those boxes so well! Thanks again Artist Guitars.

LP59 CSB

By: on 24 February 2023
As soon as I got this guitar I put on some 11 gauge strings and haven’t stopped playing it. I was expecting to not like the pickups, but they are amazing. This guitar is a lot better than Les Paul’s I’ve owned costing 3 times the price. Now I’m looking at my next artist guitar.

Artist LP59CSB Cherry Burst Electric Guitar with B

By: on 21 November 2022
I'm extremely happy with my Artist LP59CSB. I couldn't believe how close Artist got with cloning the Les Paul , it really feels like your playing a Les Paul, has a great feel and sound it delivers is outstanding. Very happy with my purchase and for sure will recommend Artist to not only a beginner but also to the pro's. I'm now looking at purchasing one of their acoustics. Well done Artist, keep up the great work.

Outstanding LP tribute guitar!

By: on 27 July 2021
What an amazing guitar this is! Everything sound and feels way more premium than the price tag on this Les Paul homage guitar. The pickups produce a fantastic powerful gritty sound and give you a lot to play with thanks to the split coils managed by the supersmooth POTs. The locking tuners are another great feature, something I didn't know I needed in my life, and now I cant live without! It looks spectacular front and back. Playability is top notch, and it is super easy to set up compared to a Strat like guitar. The Tune-o-matic style bridge works exactly as it should, and honestly I couldn't be happier with my purchase...Buy with confidence! Thank you Artist Guitars.

More guitar for less money

By: on 27 May 2021
I have two of these and also own a couple of Gibson Standards and Gibson Custom Shop R8/R9/R0. I bought these as my practice guitars and use my Gibsons for special events like gigs and whatnots. My LP59s are 3.7kgs and 4.5kgs in weight. I use the lighter one a lot. The other one is a back breaker like a Gibson Traditional (but it's common with any LP guitar brand, bring a weighting scale when you pick and buy your guitar LOL). The neck pickup is super smooth but I find the bridge pickup too aggressive. I have since replaced the bridge pickup with a medium output humbucker and it made a lot of difference. Since this is a "59", the neck is not as thick as a Gibson R9 (which is great) but closer to an R0. And there's real maple under the cap about a centimetre thick when you remove one of the pickups! The only guitar that I know that sports a maple cap is the PRS SE 245 but there is a big price difference between the two. I'm also surprised that the fretwork has plastic nib ends that you can only see on a real Gibson (great job Artist!). Overall, this is a really good guitar. How does it play and sound compared to a the real thing, you might ask? It's scary close. Really close. I gave it only 4 stars as the tailpiece is not really aluminium (as advertised) but the locking stud is alright. For the price, I can't really complain. Again, good job Artist Guitars!

Thanks for your review and we're happy to know that you're satisfied with the guitar. If you could also respond to the email we sent so we can further assist you regarding your question about the tailpiece. Cheers!

Fantastic Alternative!

By: on 22 April 2021
The LP59 is my first LP Copy, i choose Artist Guitars as they are a local company and i didn't want to pay a premium for the Epiphone equivalent as i wasn't sure a LP was for me (usually a Tele guy) and i must say that this instrument has exceeded my expectations. The finish is great, the fret board and neck feel great and the pickups sound on point for the grunge pop sound i like. I was so impressed with it i recommended Artist to my dad who now owns the Cherry 335 (i'm waiting for the black to be in stock) and he loves it. prefers it over his 90's American fender strat for all his bluesy needs. I will be getting more Artist guitars based on my experience with this LP and i recommend to anyone who's looking for a copy and isn't sure if Tokai or Epiphone are for them, get this, it's well worth it and you support a fledgling aussie business!

A Great LP Copy For The Price!

By: on 29 December 2020
This guitar punches WELL above its price point. Build quality is immaculate, it's gorgeously finished, & flawless! I have seen sloppier finishing on high end Epiphones! Speaking of which, this guitar feels and plays BETTER than any Epi LP, and leans more to the better end of, JP Tokais out there! The neck is lovely, suits my stubby hands, the fretwork is amazing! Every fret is dead level, no dead spots or fret outs! I lowered the bridge all the way, and it was still playable. YES the strings buzzed, but once I gave a 1/4 turn on the treble side and 3/4 turn on the bass side, I acheived a great, low playing action. The pick ups sounds great, and the bone nut is cut perfectly. I had my repairer look at it, (he used to work at Maton) and he could not fault its build quality! Now, however, with all the good, there HAS to be some bad! (Thankfully minor!) The roller bridge on my guitar, had 3 jammed intonation screws & were very hard to turn to intonate! Also the locking tuners, were next to useless, with lots of play and inconsistent tension, making tuning difficult! BUT, Artist came to the party with a replacement Gotoh roller bridge, and it's FIXED the intonation, however, not the tuners. I have already replaced them with a new set of Gotohs, and it tunes perfectly and stays there. (NO play!) As to the electronics, they all work as they shoould, however, the small volume pots have a very poor taper and only really start to work when almost off! I will be replacing these with better, large pots! BUT, as I said these are only MINOR hiccoughs, in hardware and does NOT detract from the quality of the guitar it self! This ISN'T a $5K Gibson! (And THEY have problems!!!) But it seems to have LESS issues than its 'authentic' inspiration! I would STILL recommend this guitar over the Epiphone models, or the MIC Tokai Legacy series! A ROCKING axe! \m/

Love it

Had the LP59CSB for a while and it has become my first choice when I go for one of my guitars. The finish and parts (locking tuners) are amazing for this price point and it is so playable. I top wrapped the tail piece and it is so easy to bend with. The frets are very well finished and the neck suits me perfectly. It is heavy but its a LP so goes with the territory and it sits so well. And of course the flame maple top is just beautiful. very impressed
