Artist AT93 Natural Electric Guitar

PLEASE NOTE: The pickups in the AT93 are not Artist Twanglers or Bullbuckers. These are available in the AT93V2 - We apologise for any confusion.

Based on our ever-popular Artist TC59 model, this updated model features several upgrades that set it apart from our best-selling TC59s.

Combining classic looks with contemporary modern features, the AT93 is a high-quality guitar for the tone-chasers out there. The AT93 comes equipped with a single-coil bridge pickup, typical of this type of guitar, which can cover everything from crisp, twangy country to tight, spanky pop and rock tones. In the neck position, we have installed a VLPA humbucker, which provides everything from warm jazz tones through to throaty and full blues and rock tones.

The body is made from AA Grade American Ash, shaped with modern belly cut and forearm contours, plus the swimming pool routing beneath the pickguard makes this a highly mod-able instrument! The AT93 has a satin Maple neck in a C-shape profile with black dot inlays and a skunk-stripe on the rear. This guitar has a two-way truss rod and the 25.5” scale length you’d expect from this style, and the improved wiring and 250K pots make this very responsive under the fingers - perfect for everything from country twang to rock and roll!

We also install a true bone nut, and the AT93 features a modern 6-saddle bridge and locking tuners for improved tuning stability and intonation.

The Golden Age

By: on 12 November 2023
We do indeed live in the Golden Age of high quality, modestly priced guitars. And nowhere is this more evident than at the good people of Artist Guitars. I had ordered this from their Bargain Bin as a customer return for the insane price of $263. Ordered it on Wednesday night, and it arrived in Canberra on Friday morning, so kudos to Australia Post's e-Parcel service. Regardless of its being a return, the guitar is in mint condition. Straight out of its very well repackaged box, the playability of the instrument was astonishing. Expecting it to need perhaps even a minor setup, I was surprised to find that it required none. No intonating, no action adjustment, no fret polishing, no nothing. Simply superb. The neck is gun barrel straight, and its deep C profile is perfect for the instrument. The VLPA humbucker in the neck is vintage-voiced, and maintains all the warmth and clarity of a PAF to my ears. The bone nut is cut perfectly and puts a great many "premium" guitars to shame. Tuning stability has been excellent courtesy of the quality locking machine heads. And they are durable. I still have my bulletproof TC-59 tele, bought 3 years ago, and built by the same people who build Sherman tanks, even if it does weigh just about as much. But this AT93 axe, with its belly carve and forearm contour is the perfect weight and is a joy to play. Indeed, it already feels as though I've been noodling on it for years. And that is the indisputable mark of quality. As the great Mr Pete Northcote might say: "Just get one, you can't go wrong!" I shall now sell my MIM Strat to a good home, so please save me one of your ST-62II strats, as well as your Brownburst58DLX 335s. I cannot decide between them, so the obvious solution is to buy both. But for this, I shall drive up to Sydney and check out your lovely showroom. Please have one your friendly experts talk me into one of your 12-watt tube monsters, as well as a tube screamer if there are any to be had. Congratulations, Artist Guitars! In terms of quality, affordability and customer service, you are punching seriously above your weight. A wonderful and safe Christmas to all of you.

Artist AT93

Extremely happy with this guitar. For this price category this definitely competes well, if not better than SX and Squier. Good solid feel to the body and neck, without being too heavy. Neck profile feels very similar to a Mexican Fender, frets all perfect, not one single issue at all. Pickups, volume and tone, the set up, everything was spot on. Could not ask for better. Very highly recommended guitar.

Great Swamp Ash Tele

By: on 12 August 2023
I bought this guitar to mod into a Nashville Tele, however as it is, it's a great guitar. I had absolutely no issues with it and I couldn't recommend it enough to anyone looking for a tele at this price range, and honestly in some cases above. Great value guitar, and probably one of the lightest Telecasters I own as a bonus. Also I've not seen another tele with swimming pool routing at this price.

Telecaster AT93

By: on 3 February 2023
My Tele AT93 arrived today. I was a bit worried because the box was damaged but on inspection the guitar survived. I bought the AT93 purely as a “open G” guitar (thanks Keith). On inspection, I can’t find fault with this guitar and I am intrigued how Artist do it for the price. I am amazed at the excellent fit and finish given the price, and the fact it has a US swamp ash body, maple neck, locking tuners, bone nut and a Wilkinson bridge. I accept the pickups and electrics are cheap, and they will be swapped out, but the basic guitar seems very sound. I put new strings on straight away and the guitar is very resonant acoustically which is a good sign. Plugged in it is fine, appropriately Tele sounding, but I will be swapping the stock pickups out. But, again, the build quality, and fit and finish is as good, if not better, than that of higher priced ‘budget’ guitars (i.e Squier etc). My only issue is with the courier company - they do not inspire confidence. The guitar only had to travel 295km but it took 5 days and the tracking details were very confusing - it was ‘processed at the facility’ three times and ‘picked from sender’ twice before actually getting on the road. However, at this stage I am more than happy with the instrument and would recommend if you are looking for a budget guitar, especially one that can be modded easily.

Pretty cool

I purchased the Artist AT93 with the single coil bridge and humbucker in the neck as a bit of a fun project and something I can mod along the way, my young bloke has just started playing so I thought “why not” !! The transaction was simple and shipping was fast, the guitar arrived perfectly boxed and wrapped, on inspection I found no damage whatsoever, the neck fitment and overall build quality is really good, the ash body is nicely figured and feels solid and well finished, the body contours are a great addition. The action is set a little high (easy fix) and the frets and fret ends are quite good (they will need a little tlc) also one tuner was slightly crooked which I fixed in 2mins. Overall the guitar plays awesome, the neck feels great, all controls work perfect and the pickups are nice. Cool guitar for a great price !! Well done guys

Beautiful playable T-Type with an addictive neck h

By: on 4 December 2022
First off let's talk about the elephant in the room - this guitar is a lot lighter than the TC59. The TC59 is a fabulous guitar whose Bullbucker pickups are simply stunning but....it's LP level heavy. This, seated or standing, is comfortable. You know when you get a guitar and you just can't stop playing it - this is one of those. The neck humbucker has a range of tones that will have you fiddling with the vol and tone knobs to discover all the possibilities. Clean I was able to cop sweet soul / Steve Cropper vibes. Upping the volume made my amp growl and it drove pedals nicely. The neck 'bucker is so responsive that I play it the majority of the time and I normally live on the bridge on T-type guitars. Speaking of the bridge : the pickup is adequate - perfectly servicable but you might want to swap it out for something more substantial. As always with Artist guitars the neck is comfortable , the frets well finished and the locking tuners work well. Apart from the neck pickup the other surprise on this AT93 was the quality and range of the volume and tone pots. They are smooth with a distinct active range - not on/off like those on numerous budget brands. This is a high quality axe that is insane value for the price but more importantly it's a fun and rewarding guitar to play.

Great service ordered the AT3 on the 18th Oct and it arrived on the 19th Oct. it has a problem with the pickup selector which I knew about and quite an easy fix but straight out of the box I plugged it in and it sounds fantastic . Cant wait to get the switch fixed and see what it can really do . Thanks Artist Guitars for another beauty!

A whole lot of guitar for the money, pretty much blown away by it. Has become a more regular player than some on the rack that are worth ten times as much. Much lighter than the TC-59, although I never found them too heavy to be honest. Great guitar, heaps of fun to play and makes me happy. What more could you ask for?
