If you're interested in cutting through all the hard brain-drain stuff and getting to the PLAYING bit, I can help you out! My aim is to empower you to play long after your lessons end. Suitable for beginners and intermediate, acoustic or electric. I keep it simple, hands-on, with a creative approach and a few easy chord-charts thrown in. I love teaching and inspiring people, especially budding musicians. I tailor lessons to what YOU need and I will help you to learn to fine-tune your ear and co-ordinate your left and right hand skills.
We can cover everything from learning to change chords to learning your favourite covers. Or ...if you're already playing, but feel a bit stuck in a rut i can help you find some new grooves, experiment with different styles and alternate tunings.

* streamline playing covers
* songwriting techniques (sharpen up your originals, giving you a fresh eye to edit your songs and look at whole-song structure)
* harmony singing/backing vocals.

I have 35 yrs experience playing, performing and writing and I've been teaching formally for about 6 years (informally for a lot longer). Guitar is the ultimate exploration and if you have passion for it, you will find the journey rewarding!!
Situated at Waterloo, 10 mins from Central, close to public transport.
Afternoons, evenings session times available, weekends flexible. $35 per hour. No obligation to come back for a second lesson. *Also now offering Mandolin Lessons and.... ***Guitar String-changing service*** : new strings + replacement $25)*
