Our 16 year old son is in love with his guitar - postage slightly delayed due to Covid but arrived in time for his birthday. Hasn’t put it down since it arrived - thank you.

Artist Guitars Response

Good value jazzmaster style guitar

Nice looking guitar with beautiful paint finish (suprisingly good at this price) and the pickups are great. Only issue was the fret ends were really sharp particularly in the bottom side so had to get that fixed. Other than that can't fault it.

Another Winner

Fantastic high quality well made guitar. All of the hardware is of a high quality and the Wilkinson P90s sound fantastic. Neck is one of the most comfortable ive ever played. Anyone considering buying other well known brands should consider saving their money and buy this or other Artist models instead. Higher quality than my Squier Classic vibes and vintage modified guitars and at a 3rd of the price. Don't know how they do it but I love it.

Artist Guitars / Company #1 in Australia... Fantas

Hi... I've been playing Guitar / Bass Professionally / Semi-Professionally for more than 50 years ( yes, more than 50 years; I'm almost 71... )... having had all of the " Name Brands " of instruments over the years, Artist Guitars can take a bow; Great Competitive Prices offering terrific Value For Money, Great Service and follow up, Ease of purchase and most of all " their musical gear is really good " ... who ever selects the supplier of instruments for the Artist brand should get a pay rise, Great Work indeed !!! ... I bought a " Grungemaster " with hard case a few weeks ago and I'm luvin' it... BUY ONE NOW BEFORE THEY RUN OUT !!!... I'm very happy to put my name to this review... I've come to have pretty high expectations of artist gear as I've bought their tenor guitar, OM size acoustic and their cutaway classical, all exceeded expectations, so bought this grunge master expecting a good guitar despite it being a bargain and an electric. Once again you've exceeded my expectations, This guitar looks better than it did in the photos the pearl finish is well saturated and looks deep. the pickups seem Bright and true no buzz, tone is good right up the neck and the action is perfect right out of the box! I've seen plenty of brand name electrics that take hours of stuffing around to get an action half that good. Once again Artist you rock!

As good as my Fender Jazzmaster if not better

By: on 7 April 2019
I bought a Grungemaster last week, it is basically a knock-off of a Fender Jazzmaster guitar except it doesn't have that horrible vintage bridge tremolo system that causes strings to jump off the rails and it is very hard to keep in tune. That is why I bought the Grungemaster so sick of the Fender vintage bridge. I am shocked at the quality of this Artist guitar and it looks great. It is a lot lighter than my Fender which is good too. Moreover, it plays really well the neck is fantastic I use a lot or barre chords and it is so smooth - great neck. I am playing the Artist guitar more than my $3000 Fenders now I just really like the feel and sound of the Grungemaster and the price is beyond belief. My guitar tech told me years ago don't buy for brand names buy for quality and playability - let your ears tell you which guitar to buy and he is 100% right if I took the Artist name off put a Fender Transfer on the neck no one would know the difference except the Fender Jazzmaster costs about 5 times more. I give this guitar 10/10 Ian top stuff. How about bringing out a Firebird or an Ibanez Prestige knock off Obviously these would cost more. Thanks again Ian and Molly top job.

solid beginner guitar

Some imperfections and flaws in the cutting and fitting of parts that you'd expect with a guitar this cheap, but where it counts it's surprisingly great: The neck is straight, flat and comfortably chunky, frets dressed well and the block inlays are a nice touch on something so cheap. The pickup housings are cheap plastic and the guard cut roughly (things you could easily fix yourself if you wanted) but not like you're going to cut yourself on it or anything. Bridge is solid and easy to intonate. What's surprising though is the sound: these pickups are surprisingly hot, P90 types and really quite clear across the frequency range. Not necessarily the smoothest guitar to play ever but jeeeeeezzz it sounds great, and feels like something you can really bash away on.
